In 1999, a young Guy Hollingworth released Drawing Room Deceptions, a groundbreaking book full of original magic, sleight of hand, and sophisticated methods that went on to inspire an entire generation of magicians.
Over 25 years later, Guy is back and ready to do it again with a new book that is sure to be an instant classic: More Drawing Room Deceptions.
To celebrate the highly anticipated sequel, we invite you to join Guy and the Vanishing Inc. team in a city near you for a special book launch event and the chance to get your copy of the book first.
Each stop on the tour will be a highly limited, intimate event, unlike any magic lecture you've been to before. Part book launch, part performance, part workshop, these afternoons are designed to be interactive events where you can not only meet Guy and learn about the new book, but also learn the way he thinks and approaches his magic.
Each event will feature Guy Hollingworth discussing the material, philosophy, and details behind the new book, alongside performances of new and previously unpublished routines. For many attendees, this may be a once-in-a-generation opportunity to experience Guy's magic live and in such an intimate setting. Every city on the tour will also feature a special guest host, with different guests appearing at each stop.

While we will not reveal the book's contents just yet, we can give a little preview.
Throughout the almost 300 pages, you'll discover ingenious approaches to classics of close-up and parlor magic. Effects range from an elegant solution to Card to Pocket, to a refined handling of the Professor's Nightmare, to Guy's full Cups and Balls routine, and even a Story Deck routine that gives “Sam the Bellhop” serious competition.
These are polished performance pieces drawn directly from Guy's professional repertoire. You'll also find deep explorations of sleights both new and old, including new thinking on the palms, changes, false counts, and more. There is even a cocktail recipe tucked inside for good measure.
Like Drawing Room Deceptions before it, this book is sure to be an instant classic.
Limited to 500 copies
This edition includes a premium custom slipcase designed to complement the Art Nouveau aesthetic of the book, a numbered bookplate, and an exclusive deck of More Drawing Room Deceptions playing cards created specifically for this release.
These live events will be the only place to get a copy of More Drawing Room Deceptions. They will not be available online until later in the Summer.

Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Docks Oyster Bar
Schedule
Kicking off the tour, the New York City event will be an elegant afternoon of conjuring and conversation. Guests are invited to come at 11:30 for lunch, not included, at Docks Oyster Bar in Midtown Manhattan before the event begins. This is your chance to share a meal with one of the best magicians in the world and spend time with Guy outside of a formal lecture setting.
The event will then officially begin with an intimate talk about More Drawing Room Deceptions, including the creation, inspiration, and stories behind the sequel.
Following the presentation, the event will transition to an exclusive, hands-on workshop. Guy will teach and discuss techniques, subtleties, and ideas from both Drawing Room Deceptions and More Drawing Room Deceptions.

Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Chicago Magic Lounge

Guy Hollingworth arrives in Chicago for a day of refined sleight of hand in one of America's great magic cities.
Beginning at 11:00 AM, guests will gather at the legendary Chicago Magic Lounge for a special event hosted with the generous support of the Chicago Magic Round Table. We are incredibly grateful to the Round Table for opening the doors to such a historic and atmospheric venue.
The afternoon will begin with a presentation and release event for More Drawing Room Deceptions, and will feature Guy sharing select pieces from the book. Following the presentation, the event will transition into an exclusive hands-on workshop exploring routines, techniques, presentations, and ideas from both books.
Note: Members of the Chicago Magic Round Table are welcome to join us for the book event for free and will receive a special rate for the Workshop. Please use the special access link that has been emailed to you.

July 19 and July 25, 2026
The Los Angeles stop of the Drawing Room Grand Tour brings Guy Hollingworth to the most storied venue in all of magic: The Magic Castle.
Rather than a single afternoon, the Castle portion of the tour is divided into two distinct events during Guy's tenure as Magician in Residence. Guests are welcome to attend either event individually or register for both experiences.
Sunday, July 19, 2026, 3:00-6:00 PM PT
Hosted inside the Castle's famed Inner Circle and joined by Mike Caveney, Guy will discuss both books, the background of the new material, and the years of thought that shaped the book.
Saturday, July 25, 2026, 3:00-5:00 PM PT
Inside the Parlor of Prestidigitation, this hands-on session will explore sleights, routines, and theory from both Drawing Room Deceptions and More Drawing Room Deceptions.
Castle members are invited to join the book event for free, but must register through the Castle Portal. As with the launch event, members of The Magic Castle should register separately through the Castle website.
A book talk at The Magic Circle
Monday, August 24, 2026 at 7 pm BST
For the London stop of the Drawing Room Grand Tour, Guy Hollingworth returns home for an evening devoted entirely to More Drawing Room Deceptions at the historic Magic Circle.
Rather than a lecture or workshop, the London event will take the form of an intimate book talk and conversation centered around the long-awaited sequel. Guy will discuss the origins of the new material, the years of development behind the routines, and the philosophy that shaped the book itself.
Select pieces from More Drawing Room Deceptions will also be demonstrated throughout the evening, offering guests a rare opportunity to experience the material performed live in an intimate setting.
As this event falls after the official release of More Drawing Room Deceptions, books are not included with the registration for the London book launch. Copies will be available for purchase at the event.

October 23-24, 2026 at Suntec Singapore Convention Centre
The final stop of the Drawing Room Grand Tour brings Guy Hollingworth to Singapore for the very first time. Because Guy rarely has the opportunity to visit Asia, we are incredibly excited to work with MegaJam to deliver an entire weekend of performances, discussion, workshops, and late-night sessions with some of the most dedicated magicians in the world.
Hosted at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Singapore events will combine formal presentations with a more relaxed convention-style atmosphere, giving attendees multiple opportunities to spend time with Guy across the weekend.

A full evening lecture featuring material from both books, with performances, theory, technical discussion, and Guy's signature elegance.
Saturday, October 24, 2026, evening
A smaller and more interactive session focused on selected techniques, sleights, timing, theory, and the mechanics and psychology behind the routines.
As this event falls after the official release of More Drawing Room Deceptions, books are not included with registration for the Singapore events. Additional copies will be available for purchase at MegaJam. Additional details regarding books, registration, and ticketing will be announced soon.
For New York, Chicago, and non-member Los Angeles registrations, every attendee receives a copy of More Drawing Room Deceptions. A copy of the standard edition will be waiting for you at the event and will be distributed upon your arrival.
For collectors, fans of Guy, or those looking for something special, you can upgrade to receive a deluxe edition when you register.
Attendees must be present to receive their copy, and there is a strict one-book-per-guest rule. Books cannot be collected on behalf of others, shipped afterwards, or reserved for absent guests.
