I bought this book a while ago in spanish, and man, it has BEAUTIFUL effects. I had a lot of coin gimmicks that I didn't know how to use and this book explains a lot of routines with different gimmicks and some reaaaaaaally useful sleights. The huddle palm (empalme del aberroncho in spanish) has become my go to palm when it come to hide several coins and still making the hand look completely empty. This book is without a doubt the next big thing after Expert Coin Magic and Modern Coin Magic.

First thoughts. This is a great book! It feels a bit like a tressure. The tricks feels very personal and inspiring to read.
Luis is really great!

They layout is not perfect but what a heck.

I was disappointed when I initially skimmed this book.
When I returned to actually read it, I realized that it is actually a treasure.

For instance, his coin turn over, which I've seen him do a number of times, is completely believable even though you know as a magician he has to be doing something tricky.

I do wish that I could get transcripts of his patter; not to copy it, but understand the misdirection hidden within it.

I'm still reading it and feel certain it contains many gems.

When I first saw this book, I didn't really think much of it... mostly because I didn't really know who Piedrahita was. That was until I saw his CSB routine which made me want to look more into his work. I can without a doubt say that this book is one of my best purchases since I started magic. The routines are beautifully constructed and there are some amazingly useful sleights taught in this book. 10/10 would recommend.

This book is not only filled with exceptional magic, it’s probably one of the most beautiful books published. It has an intrinsic sophistication that makes you want to read and reread it again. Only VI publications can rival its quality. I’m so happy I was able to get a copy through VI.

This book give insight to sleight of hand Coin Magic. I have just begun to read the enclosed and hope to achieve some oof the information for the book. I feel that during this stay-at-home situation this is a great way to learn Magic!

One of the very best resources I have for learning truly amazing coin magic.

The effort is worth it- every effect is so strong and the movements so unassuming. Luis is truly a genius with coins.

Just wish there was accompanying video footage for each routine...

I really love this book, well written, the photos are clear and plentiful, the magic is creative, original and incredibly practical. Piedrahitha is a master of of craft and its a pleasure to read his instructions. A nice finishing touch is the page marker. The book is of excellent quality. I have a number of the classics but this is bound to become a classic for the next generation. Get this!!!

Piedrahita's "Coins and Other Fables" is a wonderful book that contains thoughtful essays, devious sleights, and powerful routines. Admittedly, this has become one of my favorite books on coin magic that was published in the past 10 years. As Carney wrote, magic consists not of one secret, but of many secrets, and the secrets in this book can enhance any performance, while drastically expanding the arsenal of coin sleights. Timoteo turnover and Huddle Palm continue to be among my favorite sleights. I absolutely love the solutions that Piedrahita brings to classical routines, such as Coins and Cylinder, CSB, as well as others, as the solutions are clever and deceptive. Yes, the performance requires access to certain gimmicks, turtle being the most prominent, but the effects are astonishing due to the careful construction. I found myself appreciating the classics such as Bobo even more after reading this books.
