FISM World Champion, Hector Mancha, has spent decades making audiences laugh as hard as they gasp. His magic is impromptu, imaginative, and almost unfairly entertaining, built from the stuff already in his pockets and the props already in the room, and a comic sensibility entirely his own.

In this unmissable Masterclass, Hector shares the effects that have made him one of the most beloved working performers in magic today. From card work of the highest calibre to sponge balls, silks, Pringles, and toilet paper, this is a complete education in what it means to perform magic that people actually remember. His Masterclass is a perfect mix of world-class magic and family-oriented parlour magic.

Masterclass 1: Close-Up Magic - August 2, 2026 (4pm ET | NYC Time)

In this first Masterclass, Hector shares seven effects and routines that demonstrate his ability to entertain an audience with nothing but a deck of cards or some coins.

Joker Change: A card is selected and lost in the deck, which is then placed into the card box. A Joker transforms into the selection, and then back again, and yet the magician apparently has no idea any of it happened. This is a beautifully layered piece: clean, visual, and with a twist in the logic that makes it genuinely puzzling.

Three Card Monte Finale: Hector opens with his handling of the classic Three Card Monte and then reveals the ending that sets his version apart entirely. After the usual game plays out, he adds a dozen “money” cards to the table, giving the participant what feels like an impossible choice to get wrong. They pick one anyway. Every single card turns over to reveal a loser.

Three Fly: Already one of the most visual coin routines in close-up magic. Hector has somehow made it more magical. Three silver coins transform into copper, jump from hand to hand, then transform back to silver. It's a complete arc; a coin routine with a proper beginning, middle, and end. Note: the routine uses a specially made TUC coin, available separately.

Ambitious Card Ending: The Ambitious Card is one of the great vehicles in card magic because the structure is endlessly flexible. Hector has found a new ending. After the card rises to the top several times, it drops to the middle, then all the way to the bottom, and then Hector puts the pack into the card box, and the selection falls clean through the box into the participant's hand.

Nine Cuts: Henry Evans's “Ten Exact Cuts” is one of the great new plots in card magic. Hector has developed his own version that requires nothing more than a shuffled deck: no preparation and just an extraordinary demonstration of control.

New Handling of Triumph: The Triumph effect has been performed and re-performed for decades. Hector has found something genuinely new in it. His reworked timing is unlike any handling you'll have seen, and he performs it not once but three times in succession, each time the cards beginning to unmix themselves in a way that feels genuinely strange. This is a masterpiece of construction.

Impromptu Weighing the Cards: This is the kind of routine that makes you want to immediately clear a space and perform it. Multi-phase, hilarious, and completely baffling, Hector demonstrates (apparently through touch alone) exactly how many cards a participant has cut. The method is brilliant, the comedy is built in, and all you need is a deck of cards and a handkerchief. If you ever need to entertain a large audience with almost nothing, this is the routine to have ready.

Masterclass 2: Stage, Parlour & Comedy Magic - August 9, 2026 (4pm ET | NYC Time)

If the first Masterclass shows you Hector the card magician, the second shows you something even rarer: Hector the family show performer. Here he opens up his working repertoire of stage and parlour routines; the big, bold, audacious material he has refined across many shows. We recorded these routines in front of a full family audience, showing you exactly how well these routines play.

Duck/Rabbit Silk: Hector has taken the classic duck-and-rabbit sponge ball routine and rebuilt it entirely as a silk effect. The result is several minutes of sustained comedy with a simple silk, creating an inexhaustible piece of business that plays anywhere.

The Iron Shoe Routine: Producing a Coke can from your shoe is already a commitment. Producing it multiple times across a blockbuster five-minute routine is something else entirely. This is one of those routines that sounds ridiculous until you see it, and then you immediately want to steal it. It works close-up or parlour, requires minimal preparation, and has comedy baked into every phase.

Children's Routine with Toilet Paper: Hector performs his torn-and-restored routine with a single roll of toilet paper, and gets five or six minutes of sustained laughs in the process. He teaches you everything; every line, every piece of business, every moment, ending with a climax that will fool the children and their parents alike.

Pringles Over the Head: You know Slydini's Balls Over the Head. You've never seen it like this. Using nothing but a tub of Pringles, Hector performs one of the funniest routines in this collection with potato chips apparently vanishing for the spectator on stage while the rest of the audience watches in delight. And then, at the climax, he produces the participant's watch from inside the tube. Hector also teaches the watch steal he uses to get there.

Slydini Handkerchief for Children: Slydini's knotted handkerchief routine is a classic for adult audiences. Hector proves it works just as powerfully for children and family shows. While the adults tie the knots as tightly as they can, a small child can magically undo every single one. It's a perfect structure for a young audience: clear, fair, funny, and completely impossible.

Red Sponge Finale: We'll be direct: this fooled us. Hector shows both hands unmistakably empty (and they genuinely are), then produces a sponge ball from nowhere. There are no gimmicks. No holdouts. No funny business with the angles. Just a sponge ball, a brand new technique, and an appearance that shouldn't be possible. The perfect closer.

Whether you're a close-up worker looking for material that plays bigger, a parlour performer in need of reliable comedy routines, or simply someone who wants to understand what great performance looks like, Hector Mancha's Masterclasses is essential viewing.
