Jonathan Levitt is absolutely a pro! This class has easy skills to learn as well as some self-working effects. It's well worth the time and effort to learn from him. He makes it truly clear that it is not about the magic, instead it's all about the presentation and connecting with the audience. He demonstrates this extremely well in all his routines. A wonderful masterclass that uses magic to engage the audience and the idea that magic is like Jazz is a wonderful concept to keep an audience engaged and also allow the magician some flexibility to use a method while thinking of the value of improvisation and true dialogue with the spectator. The concepts were clearly presented and can add depth the overall performance of a routine.

I really love magic and I buy a lot of magic because I love collecting effects. I am always looking for something that I feel will really blow people away and something I can do. I think Intuition is without a doubt one of the best tricks I have ever bought and I think the amount of knowledge that Jonathan shares is worth as much as the trick. This is going into my close up as a closer and I cannot imagine it not being there years from now because that's how good it is and. how well it's taught. This is a master magician sharing a phenomenal experience and I absolutely fell in love with it and 5 stars is not enough.

I'm going to give this five stars out of fairness to Jonathan. The material is good, well explained, and his comments about app magic in the second class are very much worthy of consideration. (Even if you don't own any of the apps that are discussed.)

However, on the Vanishing Inc side, I think this masterclass suffers. The video, and especially the audio, quality of the third session are quite poor. I know there's not much they can do about Zoom (other than ditching it, which they should consider) but post-processing the class for downloading, simply to level the audio, would be most welcome. Damien's audio is barely a whisper, and others are almost shouting. Also, apparently there was a big time gap between the recorded sessions and the live Q&A. This led to some unintended repetition. Before the Q&A, Vanishing should provide a list of the topics covered to the presenter so they can recall what has been previously discussed.

Jonathan is a highly professional magician and excellent teacher. You won't use all of his tricks but the method, the thinking, the presentation can apply to your magic. PS: Andy is a little jet lagged in this one ;)

This is a solid four-star masterclass from a true professional. Jonathan knows what works for real audiences and much of his decades-long experience is packed into these two sessions. Most of this material is from his working repertoire and has been honed over years. While you may not want to add them “as-is” to your own repertoire, you will pick up many tips on how to make your own material stronger and more fooling. I’m deducting one star as more than half of session two is basically an informercial for The Stranger, Levit’s incredible card divination effect. While he does share his views and philosophy on using tech in magic—and tip the workings of The Stranger—this would have been better as a bonus third session. If you already own The Stranger, you won’t get anything new out of this; if you don’t own it, but are considering purchasing it, you shouldn’t have to pay to sit through a sales pitch and not even get a discount code at the end of it.

Levit is excellent. The Q and A is rather awful in terms of audio visual quality as well as Damien's irritating style. So much time is wasted. It's so tedious I turned it off after about 10 minutes.

  • Anthony asks: So... you say that one need not purchase The Visitor to get value from the second session, but according to the trailer, that session is all about The Visitor. I do not own, nor do I intend to purchase, The Visitor, so color me confused. I'm concerned about the value for my purchase here and any insight would help.

    • 1. Jonathan (creator) responds:Hello, Anthony! Thanks for the great question. In the second session, yes, I do spend some time talking about the Stranger, specifically. However, within that talk, there are points made about the approach to building a routine that is effective. And, then, I go on to discuss tech, in general and in more specifics. It's a comprehensive discussion that I believe will be of interest to many.
    • 2. Anthony responds:Apologies on misnaming the effect in my initial question. I couldn't find an option to edit, so obviously I meant The Stranger, but you knew that, right?!
