A founding ensemble member and regular featured act at the Chicago Magic Lounge, Ryan is a masterful performer and a highly sought-after private and corporate event entertainer. He frequently appears at the Magic Castle, House of Cards in Nashville, and many other prestigious venues across the country. Each month, he also hosts his own unforgettable evening of cocktails and enchantment called Old Fashioned Magic at Koval Distillery.

The accomplished performer and creator is known for presenting astonishing modern magic with a classic style. Across two incredible 90-minute lectures you’ll learn many of his most cunning and sophisticated miracles. Then, in week 3, you’ll get to join Ryan live on Zoom for a Q&A where you can ask him anything you want.

Everything he teaches has been honed in front of real audiences. This is real-world material that can go right into your working set. From card magic to coin magic, there is something for everyone. Along the way, you’ll also get a firsthand look at how Ryan fine-tunes all of his magic for maximum impact.

Session 1 - November 5, 2023 (4pm ET | NYC Time)

The first session will focus on Ryan's favorite worker material. Tons of extremely fooling, largely impromptu material. This is practical stuff that's been honed in front of real audiences and is primed to go directly into your working set.

Session 2 - November 12, 2023 (4pm ET | NYC Time)

You'll get an expert look at the ins and outs of a Stripper Deck, including how to make your own at home. Even those who think they might be familiar with the power of this versatile gaffed deck will discover new ways to look at it.

Ryan will then dive into some of favorite effects like a deck of cards that shuffles into new deck order and his take on copper silver. You'll also get a look a the depths of his signature "Tyvek Envelope System" where cards appear and vanish inside a coin envelope.

This review I am publishing is just after the the first masterclass which I found thoroughly entertaining where Ryan teaches some very nice effects which I am looking forward to performing and they are very easy to do and also looking forward to next week when he will be teaching effects with a stripper deck and you just know that anything by Ryan is top quality this comes with my highest recommendation.

I thought week one was good, but week two was fantastic. The scope of new and clever ideas using stripper technology was great. There were many very original and well thought out ideas exploiting the condition of the deck as well as innovative uses of Stay-Stack, Marlo's Incomplete Control, and some great moves exploiting these combinations. Twin Peeks is brilliant! For card magic enthusiasts, this is a thought provoking masterclass and one of the best value masterclasses yet.

I have been working with a mem-deck and a tapered deck for quite some time now. Feeling the need to delve deeper into the fundamental mechanics of the deck itself, I am currently reading 'A New Angle' by Ryan Plunkett and Michael Feldman. On Saturday evening, 11/11, I found myself getting a little frustrated with "Collect Yourself," one of the effects in the book. While initially planning to send an email to Ryan Plunkett for clarification, upon searching, I found that a masterclass was being advertised on YouTube. I immediately visited Vanishing Inc. to discover that magic from 'A New Angle' would be featured in Ryan's masterclass on 11/12! The rest is history.

Both the previously recorded first session I had missed and the second session from 11/12, focusing on the tapered deck, exceeded my expectations. Ryan is an absolute master of his art. I now have the ingenious "Tyvek Envelope System" on order, and I have a new angle and a much better understanding of how to approach interpreting the material from the book.

The first Masterclass is excellent. There is a good balance of types of effects. The Gravity Deck is excellent, although he didn't indicate a source for the decks. I hope that will be revealed in week 3. The work on the Tyvek system is well thought out. I have not yet viewed week 2, as it has not yet been bookmarked. I assume the tech wizards are still working on that.

Fantastic Masterclass. I love how Ryan goes into every detail and overall the instructions were great. Especially the 2nd week is my favorite part because I enjoy playing around with a Stripper Deck and I never saw someone go into that detail about the mechanics of such a deck. I really recommended.

This is a really excellent Masterclass. My favourite mode of learning is to first learn the trick from the book, in this case distilled, and then to review the video to see how some of the moves are done and executed with the full routine. My favourite effect is Ace on top. The video is excellently produced and the explanations are clear and detailed. Highly recommend this Masterclass.

A mixed bag of delicious sleight of hand to the real workings of a classic magic gimmick(that you probably already own). Lots to learn from this masterclass. A home run from Vanishing Inc. I would love to see more from Ryan in the future.

Thanks to the VI Masterclass I have been able to meet Ryan Plunkett and I couldn't be happier. He is not only a great magician with incredible skill but also a great teacher. His sense of didactics is admirable and he manages to unravel the complexity of routines with very little. I especially liked his approach to the Stripper deck. A massive lesson that explores everything from how to make your own Stripper deck, to different super clever and deceptive routines. After watching his lecture I want to get the book he wrote with Michael Feldman (A new angle). Seriously, if you're hesitating, don't. It is totally worth it.

Some really brilliant stuff in here. The envelope work is worth more than the price of admission, though it will take some arts and crafts work or additional purchases to be of practical use. (The benefit of the theory behind it is invaluable, however.) And the impromptu Ace on Top variant is instant gratification.

Excellent lecture. Ryan teaches “Ace is on TOP” with excellent detail, and there are tips and suggestions throughout that can be applied to other routines already in your “act.” In addition, I found that the section on using stripper decks (and how to make your own) very interesting. Ryan has me rethinking this staple that I had mistakenly thought of as a beginner’s prop.

Ryan Plunkett has a natural authority and very calm and relaxed attitude when presenting his magic-
so he can present his strong wonders with ease-
his explanations are complete and presented with the same serenity- which makes them easily to follow giving them a beautiful power. I am very pleased by his magic. Merci!

If this is your first master class, I recommend starting somewhere else. The material here is largely a rehash of what Plunkett has already published, but there is definitely some good work on standards, such as the Shaxon Envelope, and of course, using a Stripper deck.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Plunkett rehearsed the explanations as they are sometimes disjointed, and he has a distracting habit of passively referring to himself in the Royal We. As for the Q&A session, you can skip it as it’s marred by inconsistent audio levels and lengthy interjections from the moderator. Sorry VI, this one misses the mark for me.
