Session 1 - The Toolbox

In the first session, Peter provides an in-depth look at creating the ideal “Toolbox” for creating and performing effects.

This includes finding the right “tool” for the job. Peter takes a look at billet peeks, tears, and switches, examining each technique under a microscope and providing astounding detail on the unique value of each.

He then dives into creating dynamic plots and character development. The combination of these two elements ensures you’ll walk away understanding how to not only design interesting plots but find the method that best fits those plots.

At the time of this review, only the first week has come out. I thought it was a pretty great lecture. Peter went over an Out of this World without a pocket switch which I thought was interesting. He went over an ESP routine which seemed great to me if you’re into ESP stuff. The highlight for me was the beginning when he went over a billet routine, pretty simple but I thought it was great. What truly makes this five stars though is the fact that it come with the Isabella Star 3 PDF. That alone is a 50 dollar product. So essentially for the same price you can subscribe to VI monthly for this month to get the lecture and you would be getting Isabella Star 3 as well. Excellent.

Loved the Billet Peek techniques using double-blank cards. That's going into my mentalism routine. Also enjoyed Pete's take on 'Out Of This World,' and I love the idea of shuffling the deck using the 'Zarrow Shuffle' beforehand to make the effect even stronger.

Includig the very first! Why not introduce the spectator from the start (minus hat), and demonstrate putting hands behind back?

Fantastic Masterclass Vol. 1 from Peter Turner! The techniques are simple but very deceptive. There are several routines that will go directly into my repertoire. I especially love the effect for Bride & Groom and the Out of This World effect, but the routine with esp cards was excellent, too! My favorite of all is the billet routine using the Frixion pen. Truly "fire"! Highly recommended!

Really good so far! He got straight into the techniques and effects if that’s what you’re after. I loved the billet peek and scripting that went with it right at the start and that’s definitely something I’ll try. There was lots of simple but effective stuff on here. While Peter does some amazing stuff, I am usually underwhelmed with the material he shares and his long winded teaching style. Sadly, this was much the same. I didn't learn any new "tools" in week 1. He taught one effect where someone writes on double blank cards held in your hand behind your back where you then switch the card and fold it for them, then later peek. No other switches, peeks or tears were taught. He did share a nice additional idea for this simple trick though.He taught a 5 card ESP match that was nothing new. He performed a psychological card force which will be explained in week 2.He taught two ideas with "pre" equivoque which was a new concept to me, but suspect in my mind.Finally, he taught a new presentational angle on Out of this World with very basic and poorly taught sleights to go along with it.Sadly, he seems to gear his released material towards beginners that adore him, which I assume is where the 5 star ratings come from.The first week was only 1 1/2 hours. For $1 it was great, but I would be disappointed if I had paid full price. Hoping week 2 will be better.

I forgot to mention he did include the 68 page Isabella Star III pdf, but there has been no performance or discussion on it so far.

Definitely worth a dollar! (I'm being a smart!@s) Peter's master class is master class. His level of thinking is brilliant and challenging at the same time. I'm challenged to raise my game and Peter presents a level of both thinking and skill that ... well, keeps me up at night thinking! Here's the best part, even though I can see I am miles below his level of mentalism, Mr. Turner points the way to the mountain top. I see where I need to go. The "trick" if you will, is do I have the wherewithal to go the distance and the answer is, "yes, but only if I don't quit!" So, thank you Mr. Turner. Your masterclass is priceless.

There is no doubt that Peter Turner is one of the greatest mentalists. At least in week 1 he demonstrates this on many occasions by making incredible predictions in front of his assistant. Most of these predictions are not explained at any point (why did he know he would choose the queen of hearts? Why the star first?...) and those that are told in the explanatory part are nothing new: basically a "one ahead" routine, an "out of this world" and a written billet robbery. It makes me a little sad that there isn't really anything new to learn here since I admire Peter and it would be a pleasure to know more about his methods or techniques.

There’s a reason why Peter Turner is at the top of his game and if you want to take your Mentalism to new heights then look no further!!! I recently took Peter Turner's masterclass on ESP cards, and it was a fantastic experience. Peter really knows his stuff, and he made the whole topic super engaging and fun.

The class started with a bit of history about ESP cards, which was actually pretty cool. Peter explained how they were created by Dr. J.B. Rhine in the 1930s and how they've been used over the years. This background helped set the stage for why people are so interested in ESP.

The hands-on activities were the best part. We got to use the standard ESP card deck with the five symbols: a circle, a plus sign, waves, a square, and a star. Peter led us through different exercises, like trying to send a symbol to a partner without speaking and practicing alone to see if we could boost our ESP abilities.

What made the masterclass stand out was Peter's balanced approach. He talked about both the supporters and the critics of ESP, giving us a fair view of the subject. Plus, he shared some of his own stories and experiences, which made the lessons feel more personal and real.

Peter Turner is an amazing mentalist and a talented teacher! In addition to sharing clever and subtle techniques, Pete demonstrates and explains the theatricality that makes his effect emotionally powerful. The audience is left saying, "Wow," rather than, "I wonder how he did that." The ESP card routine alone would have justified this purchase. This is indeed a masterclass—and worth every penny.
