Important Crediting and History
This style of effect has been tremendously popular for many years. While there are a variety of different versions available, the original idea is credited to Tony Anverdi. “Anverdi's Color Match” is being offered by Murphy’s Magic—who purchased the rights to all of Anverdi’s material. This is the most advanced version ever and offers way more possibilities than the original Anverdi effect and other similar ideas.

Innovative Technology

The biggest difference this “Anverdi Color Match” set offers is the fact that all the technology is contained in the pens themselves. You no longer need any cup, glass or pencil holder. The spectators can place the pens in their pocket or even lay them on the table—opening up a lot more potential for different routine ideas.

~Long Review~

Upon Receiving the Device you get probably by far the most Over the top packaging. You take the top off the canister, the top lights up and fades through a series of colors, and music plays. There is a switch on the inside of the lid next to the Instructions link/ password along with a micro USB input to charge the lid. … to charge … the lid! (More on this later)

The markers are really well made. They contain an ink well/bladder to keep the markers lasting for a long time and to protect the ePODS (The electronics) (more on those in a second). The markers function like regular markers, but the colors do seem a bit … Weak I guess is a decent way to put it. The color is fine, but the colors are just bland I guess. But no one seems to notice which is fine. In the instructions, we are informed on how to change the nib of the markers but not what to do if the ink is empty/dried up. This means when I am faced with this, I’ll have to get creative with a solution.

The ePods are built into the ends of the markers and can be removed by using the cap of the markers and popping off the ends. The ePods have a pretty long range to them and their settings can be changed through the receiver. Since the ePods can be removed, it allows you to get creative with what you can put them in. From Easter eggs to candy. All are taught in the instructions. (More on this later).
My biggest issue with the ePods is the fact that they are battery-powered. The lid is rechargeable. The Receiver is rechargeable but the ePods take a disk battery. (I understand its most likely to make them smaller, but my headphones are around the same size and are rechargeable. It’s probably to keep the cost down… who knows). The receiver can let you know if the batteries in the ePods are low so that’s a good thing. The ePods are labeled to indicate which side is Positive and what side is negative so you can make sure the batteries are put in correctly. In the instructions, they inform you that if you do not plan to use the markers for over 6 months or so, remove the batteries. The ePods use a gyroscope or Angle sensor to not only power on the ePods but to activate the Markers, which makes using the markers pretty easy and intuitive.

The receiver.
When you first get it, it feels pretty lightweight which was concerning as it can feel a little cheap. It comes with a strap to secure the receiver and a mounting clip. Making it easy to hide on your body. The receiver allows you to change the tilt sensitivity of the makers, the strength of the vibration, and how you obtain the information which is probably my favorite feature. You can get the information by vibration and or by an LED light that changes color to match which marker is being picked up. This makes it easier to identify which marker is being selected. When a marker is triggered there is a 5 cycle kind of timer where it will vibrate the number of times to indicate which color has been selected 5 times. Once the cycle is complete, that marker becomes “Inactive” just in case. But the receiver has a reset button. This will allow you to reactivate all the markers which allow for some pretty interesting revelations (explained in the instructions) Also when the receiver is going through a cycle, the participant can change their mind before the 5th cycle and it will switch to the new marker while keeping the first selection still active. They call it a fail-safe. Which is a pretty nice feature to have

The instructions seemed to have been filmed in a cLog and were not really color corrected or graded. SO the entire video seems muted and low contrast. Which is probably the only negative thing I have about it. That and the timestamp card is seen only briefly. The instructions for the device are thorough except for what to do if the Ink wells go dry and what have you. Not to mention there is no information on whether or not the ePods can be installed into other markers or not. So that’s gonna needs some experimenting on my end. Outside of that, the information offered goes pretty in-depth. Wile also offers a handful of different routines and ideas to be used with the device in general. There are of Course color matching routines, Cards tricks, and much more. Enough material and ideas that almost everyone can get something out of it. The routines offered do get a bit to explain at times (have a lot of steps or explanations to give to the participants) Which is fine for what it is. But this product is most definitely not for everyone. It can be self-working but will still need some creativity to come up with routines that suit your style/shows.

All in all this is a really great product. You can tell a lot of thought went into the construction of everything to not only give a great product but also a great presentation and a positive opening experience. What I thought would have been dope is if the ePODS were rechargeable and had a wireless charging feature in the base of the markers so when you store them top-down in the case (that’s how they are basically deactivated) the Fancy Pants lid would recharge them like an AirPods case. But then these things would be stupid expensive. Still would be cool tho.

One of the best tricks I’ve purchased in years. From the packaging to the tutorial video and all the “colorful” things in-between, this is expertly crafted, cleverly designed and extremely versatile. The only criticism I have is that the trailer exposes the main effect. That’s on Murphy’s and I’d hope they’d avoid doing this in the future. Other than that, I lovr Anverdi’s Color Match!

Extensive instructions along with a perfectly working apparatus make for one of the most baffling pieces of magic I’ve ever purchased.

The package I received was incomplete, which was a disappointing error in quality control. Things such as this may cast doubt on overall product quality. I place the blame entirely on Murphy’s Magic.

I contacted the marvelous crew at VI and received an immediate response. The error was corrected within minutes.

My suggestion is, if Vanishing Inc stocks the product your looking for, buy it from them. You won’t be sorry.

This is a stunner, per my first performance for a very skeptical audience. It's simple to perform, and the extensive video tutorial gives multiple routines to develop from the gimmick.
The quality of the product is top-notch, as should be expected for the premium price. In fairness, as typical, most of the price is for the development and teaching of the secrets and methods. But the technology in this is also worth something beyond many of the items for sale at magic shops.
I am pleased with this purchase, and I highly recommend it to parlor magicians of any skill level.

As the other Anverdi releases this one is also Excellent! It works just as it says. The fail safe feature really great thinking. The receiver is a good size to either have in your hand or somewhere to feel the vibrations. The only negative I can find is the markers. Although they work well with the effect, I would prefer the cap with the "sensor" would fit in a pen we could purchase locally. The tutorial, which was great, only shows how to replace the pen tips. Seems if only the tips contain ink, not sure how many performances you can do before you need a refill. The tutorial did not cover this enough or explain it in too much detail, just that refill pens will be available after the release of the item. Not a big deal, just my observation. This is definitely worth the money, and a terrific new item in the Anverdi collection.

One of the best magic purchases I’ve made in a very long time. The gimmicks work great, great instructional video with lots of different routine ideas, and in my view more affordable and adaptable then similar sets by other makers. I think having the markers gimmicked, rather than the holder, allows for many more possibilities. So good I’m considering getting a second set. Also, if you’re looking for coin- style envelopes that are big enough to fit the markers, search for “policy envelopes”.

Well - A wonderful magician friend of mine, Jasen Magic, introduced me to the trick at a show but made me do the research my self. However - VI makes everything easy to find bc they have everything!! So I ordered the markers and I can say these are amazing and the responses from the audiences is baffling. I have developed 2 routines - The first is with a foto of a bear that is sent to the spectators phone before the trick is started. I show them my phone and ask them to put in thier number to show the audience I do not have them in my address book nor communicated with them before the trick. Once they are convinced, they receive the text but have to leave phone turned down and no peaking at the text. I hand them a replica of the bear on a piece of paper and they color it in (using the "color match" trick) then they turn over the phone, put in security code, go to their messages and click on phot I texted them... looks exactly like the picture they colored. The second effect is similar but I did it with a pair of socks I am wearing to match the colors. Super easy to use! I just recommend getting the "Crayola" markers and swapping the actual "spongy marker ink" out for the same colors using the Crayola colors. The actual markers are kind of dull in color. Love this and will purchase the Die as well.

After seeing a total amateur like Donny Osmond do this trick on Cris Angel's show I knew I had to give it a shot. Honestly, I'm tired of buying tricks for $20 just to put them in the box for unused tricks. While pricey, it checked off a lot of the things I wanted in a magic trick. I do stuff primarily for friends and family in close settings. This trick is perfect for that as well as stage. Not too many illusions have that advantage. I'll use index cards for close up and save the ink. The instruction video is two and a half hours long. Which is a plus and a negative. A negative because 2.5 hours long is a bug chunk of your life (I'm 60 and an amateur magician for 55 years). However, it's a plus, because at $300 the instructions should be more than a slip of paper. I'm still learning everything and am most definitely looking to do more than just the feature trick. It's basically examinable, which is a big plus for me because in close settings people are apt to want to touch and feel and look closer. No putting the trick in your pocket and moving on to another trick.

I'm glad I purchased it from Vanishing Inc. because of their superior customer service and points system. I've already ordered a second set of markers.

There is no false advertising here! These markers are really high tech and for what they are, the price point is pretty fair. A bonus is the long instructional video that accompanies this product.

This is one of the best trick I've ever bought. The options for using them are endless. Once you receive the pens, you'll realize that the secret isn't in them. You can get the props, attach them to any object of your choice, and perform your magic. This is amazing because you're not just buying a single routine trick, but a versatile prop that opens up countless possibilities for performing mentalism routines.

If you're worried about durability, don't be. The pens are very well made and you won't need to buy any replacements. The pens can be easily replaced by any other pen or object.

Every now and then an exceptional effect hits the market. Color Match is it. Without a doubt it is one of if no the best effect you can do. Extremely easy and very well taught. You will probably amaze yourself when you perform this. It certainly will amaze your spectators. Well worth every penny. Highly recommend. A+++++++++

Before you knew the secret, many people who witness these in actions, and when done properly disguised - you'll swear it was done by stooges. But because you participants react so strogly that is what makes these so great. So many times in Mentalism the participants who are pre showed or stooged just nod and sit down. You can ge some big stage reactions here. But there's that risk of electronic failure. They have tried to cut down the risk here a lot. And just follow the instructions and be smart and have outs. You'll be fine. This can be a real brain buster.

You would know the color, but if the guest randomly chooses the shapes to color, you will know the color, but not which shape was colored or the order that the shapes are colored. Is this true?
