Anverdi's Spirit Bell

Designed by Tony Anverdi, the legendary inventor behind technological marvels like "Mental Die" and "Color Match," the “Anverdi Spirit Bell” is an elegant, powerful way to inject a moment of ghostly magic into any performance.
How will you use it?
- Perhaps you're dealing cards face down, and the bell chimes precisely to signal you to stop on a spectator's selection.
- Maybe you're in a séance, attempting to contact the spirits, when a bell isolated on the table dings twice in response.
- Or you use a shadow to touch the bell—and despite no physical contact, it chimes as if answering.
However you choose to use it, “Anverdi's Spirit Bell” is an exquisite centerpiece designed to elevate your craft. The bell itself is large and commanding, delivering a rich, attention-grabbing tone that instantly conjures an atmosphere of intrigue and mystery. It rests upon a gorgeous wooden base, perfectly complemented by its elegant, matching handle.
This Spirit Bell is a masterful blend of classic showmanship and cutting-edge innovation. The ring can be customized for a single or double chime, and can be triggered precisely by a remote or with a timing delay. **Best of all, the Anverdi Spirit Bell is fully examinable. **Unlike other bells we've seen, you can even allow your participants to be the ones to set it up themselves—they'll never find the secret.
As a bonus, every spirit bell comes complete with two sets of subtly marked cards: an ESP deck and another set specifically designed for telling captivating ghostly stories with the bell.
Looking for more? The Deluxe edition of the Spirit Bell upgrades the bell to include a swinging hammer and comes with a matching Spirit Cabinet that serves as both a display case and a prop. Also included is a curated collection of gimmicks and accessories, allowing you to build the trick into a complete, show-stopping act.
Customer reviews for Anverdi's Spirit Bell
The packaging is excellent. The bell itself is superb and the instructions are easy to follow.
If I had a criticism it’s that the ‘wooden’ base just looks a little too new, but that can be easily fixed with a chain, a Bradawl and some stain / carefully applied varnish or wax.
I placed all the components in an antique wooden box, wrapped in an old velvet cloth, the bell in a similarly aged black velvet bag and invite my spectators to examine and help me assemble the apparatus. Finally I place everything under an antique French glass dome and I’m ready to go.
I chose the standard version for its purity. To my mind the swinging hammer of the deluxe version seems a bit contrived, but I guess it all depends upon your style of magic; but also my utilising a glass dome made the case / cover included with the deluxe version superfluous.
Once you understand how the mechanism works it’s possible to create more items that can interact with the spirit bell / spirit bell base and I’ve created an antique photographic poltergeist card that launches itself in the air and flips over, a pendulum device (as can be purchased separately to compliment the Spirit Bell from Vanishing Inc.)
The interface is excellent and the furthest distance I have achieved results is around 40 feet. It could be possible to extend this distance but TBH it’s not necessary for most performers and certainly not myself.
I’m very happy with this and have created a set that incorporate another Vanishing Inc. purchase - Emergence.
Looking forward to Samhain. I intend to scare the living bejesus out of my carefully selected audience. 🤫👍🏼
Highly recommended for all dark narrative magicians.

Two things to watch out for:
1) The rare earth magnet in the clapper is EXTREMELY strong. You cannot permit an audience member to handle the bell. You will want to hang the bell yourself, to avoid the clapper glomming onto something by accident and giving away the whole game.
2) The chain holding the clapper is disappointingly weak. Twice in testing, the clapper has pulled itself off the bell and lodged on the base. I have replaced the chain on mine, and you should too.
Except for that second issue, outstanding product.
