Meet Svenpad Cocktail Cards, a custom deck of cocktail recipe cards that lets you force a classic drink while spectators freely handle, read, name, and mix the cards.
The deck appears to contain 52 different classic and modern cocktails, each with a full-color photograph on the front and a genuine recipe on the back. Decks like this are commonly available online for home bartenders and anyone learning to make cocktails, so the cards look completely at home in a bar, restaurant, or cocktail-themed setting.
The cards can be used for magic or mentalism. Participants can think of a drink they never saw, or you can reveal the drink as a straightforward magic effect. You can reveal the flavor, aroma, taste, ingredients, type of glass, or the drink itself. The selected card can disappear from the deck and appear in an impossible location, or you can reveal a real prepared drink in a cocktail shaker or behind the bar. You can also combine the deck with an impression device, having a spectator think of a friend’s name for a more personalized revelation.
Possible presentations include a clean cocktail version of Max Maven’s “Pocket Nightmare,” a "Get Sharky" style routine, a Smart Ass routine, Hoy’s Tossed Out Deck, and productions of a drink from multiple locations. The deck can suit mingling, cabaret, stage performances, corporate events, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and weekend performances. It can also be combined with other decks for additional routines and revelations.
The gimmick is concealed within the cards, which each feel like a single card. The effect is self-working and requires no sleight of hand. Spectators can safely read, hold, mix, overhand shuffle, or Hindu shuffle the cards. There are no rough-and-smooth cards or messy glue visible in performance. The cards have a high-gloss UV finish and handle more smoothly than a standard deck.
- Available in three force versions: Espresso Martini, Margarita, and Aperol Spritz
- Each set includes two of the cocktail force cards, Espresso Martini or Margarita, for your revelations

- The deck looks like a cocktail recipe deck available from Amazon or other online retailers
- The backs feature authentic drink recipes
- Made in the USA
- Each set includes a custom gold box-closure sticker for the top of the card box
The deck was built from scratch. You can begin using it within 10 minutes of receiving it, allowing you to focus on the routine rather than the props.
“When I took the cocktail cards out of the box, I knew immediately that this would become a modern classic! I handled the cards and could not detect the gimmick until I watched the video tutorial. That’s how good these are. I knew it was a SVEN principal, and I even experimented with the cards but could not find the gimmick. The video tutorial covers both mentalism presentations as well as straight-ahead, powerful magic. The work that you put into this deck is simply amazing. Thank you for another great contribution to our magic community. Cocktail Cards are a winner!”
— Jeff McBride
“As always, Brett’s eye for quality and detail is second to none. The cards look fantastic and handle exactly as they should. A clever gimmick, a fun premise, and a knockout force.”
— Peter Nardi
“These cocktail decks are wonderful. A well-designed, printed, and assembled deck that I’m excited to work into my weekly shows at the Magic Hideaway here in St. Augustine, Florida. It will be a classy, deceptive, and unique way to produce a thought-of drink during our VIP cocktail reception. Thank you, Brett!”
— Bill Abbott
“Just got this yesterday, and I have to say that this product is a winner. Perfect for a force in a confabulation routine and visually very interesting. 10/10. Well done, Brett, as always!”
— Luca Volpe
“I have a set from Magic Live and was waiting to use them at a corporate event before reviewing. First off, the images are striking and very high quality. The method is very well hidden. In fact, I had no worry about spectators handling the cards. I love the recipes on the back, and it’s so easy to talk about cocktails at most of the events I do. My next event is this Thursday, and I’m planning on ordering an espresso martini and having the bartender give it to one lucky spectator. I don’t add much to my walk-around bag, but these are a keeper. Five stars!”
— Craig Fillicetti
Each deck contains 60 cards: 30 different drinks arranged as 30 pairs, filling the box with a selection of modern and classic cocktails. The fronts feature full-color photographs, and the backs feature detailed recipes. The instructional video runs for 40 minutes and includes magic and mentalism ideas and routines.
