A new and killer presentation from Dead Rebel productions that combines some classic mentalism principles into a full, astonishing routine.

'Free William Hicks' is an anytime, anywhere practical piece of bizarre / mental magic that will fool everyone. You tell the story of Joseph Pascal, a charlatan who used to get his partner, William Hicks, out of trouble by fooling the sheriff - with three baffling effects using some poker chips, a leather wallet, and a prediction...

First of all, the chips are mixed - the spectator looks at one, and then moves them around to leave you no clues - you reveal which one they looked at! Second, they repeat the above, but this time you just verbally reveal the color of the chip they looked at, without touching anything! Finally, you have them mix the chips again, and have them keep one, give one to you, and put one in the wallet. Astonishingly, a prediction that was eft in full view reveals the location of ALL THREE CHIPS!

Combining two classic mentalism principles (Bob Hummers Mathematical Monte, and Deddy Corbuziers Free Will) gives a pack small, plays big, three phase self-working routine that is always ready to go - no reset required. And, as always with the Dead Rebel Productions, the props are second to none. The chips are custom printed in full color, the leather wallet looks gorgeous (and will only look better with age) and the whole thing comes wrapped in a faux tobacco packaging. Even the prediction card looks amazing!

I love Dead Rebel products. They have a certain allure to them. The props are well made and the Tutorial is good. One can make a nice routine out of this unlike The Con which is a one trick pony (still very fooling). The leather sachet is really nice and the chips are made really nicely. I can recommend this. Nice product.

Don't know why someone at Vanishing Inc decided to apply a white sticker with the name of the trick on the tobacco packaging making it tear off the paper when trying to remove it. Way to go.

I've been obsessed with Dead Rebel effects lately. I've now got six of their effects with two more on the way (wish I could get them all from Vanishing Inc., but some are only available direct from Dead Rebel Productions.) This latest one, Free William Hicks, is a really great effect. Easy to do, and beautifully made props that don't look like a "magic trick" but actually look like authentic items from the Old West.

The story, as provided in the trailer, is a bit convoluted, but the great thing about Dead Rebel is, their effects are easily adapted to your own style and storyline, if you have the experience with performance. In my case, I crafted a story about Doc Holliday and an illegal gambling bet he would make with saloon patrons; a perfect excuse for why he hid the Chips in the Tobacco pouch. I highly recommend this easy to do, three-phase effect for anyone that is into this sort of gambling/old west themed type of thing.

I love this trick.
I live in an area that is steeped in the old west and this is a solid walk around to upclose trick that is very easy to follow.
The tobacco package and leather satchel are both very fun and well made.
The chips themselves are very well made and very easy to follow the effect. I have already been performing this for friends and other magicians and it has been very solid. Even people who know the basic concept from similar tricks find it very solid and entertaining.
The tutorial may be a bit easy and relatively quick but it gives you all you need to know to get going. There is enough of a story there to work to guide you through a solid routine. But there is alot of wiggle room to make your own patter and story behind it to tailor it to your needs.
I have not purchased anything from Dead Rebel before, but this trick has caused me to look into them more as the quality, story, props and tutorial were all rather solid. Easy to learn and perform for magicians of most ages and experience. Though it is definitely enhanced in my opinion if you like telling stories. However I am sure there are ways to make this very easily work for other gambling based routines.

Highly recommend!
