Convince them you have superhuman memory without any actual memory work required.

"Hypermnesia is brilliant! Super excited to explore it further and share my findings with the community! Michael Murray

"Gives your audience the most convincing illusion that you can memorize everything. It’s like you’re a real life Rain Man." Christian Grace

"Hypermnesia" is a brilliantly deceptive web app that gives you the power to convince people you are a genuine memory master. It seamlessly mirrors your phone’s contact list (iOS and Android), allowing you to create the incredibly authentic illusion that you've memorized every detail about every contact on your phone. All without any actual memory work required.

No assistants. No peeks. You don’t even need an internet connection.

This one-of-a-kind reputation-maker lives in your pocket and is always ready to go.

You let someone scroll through your contact list and randomly pick a name. You’re then able to immediately recall that contact’s phone number, address, birthday, email, or even specific notes—like a door access code or their wifi password.

This multi-phase stunner builds toward a mind-blowing finale where they type any three digits into the search bar of your contact list. You then flawlessly name every contact whose phone number contains that exact sequence of numbers.

And the best part? All of this is fully customizable using real contacts from your phone. You not only can control what information is displayed, but also have the ability to remove or add any contacts you want.

"If you could REALLY memorize your entire contacts list then it wouldn’t look any better than this. It’s genius. Highest recommendation!"Mark Elsdon

"I love it!" The Jerx

Customer reviews for Hypermnesia

Ricardo
This is fascinating. Really cool idea to play with. For casual performance or on stage.
Roel
This is such a nice trick: the effect is great. Instructions are very well and it’s so easy to perform.
Robert
Hypermnesia is a brilliant effect! I’ve had it for only a couple of days and will be including it in a paid gig this weekend. It’s that easy to install, learn and practice to be ready to perform. The fact that your spectators can freely select any of your contacts while scrolling (they’re not scrolling with the phone upside down but are looking through them) makes the illusion extremely convincing. What’s more, several aspects of the performance allow for mentalism routines so it’s not only a demonstration of super-memory ability! I could not be more impressed with this project and highly recommended Hypermnesia to any magician or mentalist! Best wishes to all.

This is my first purchase to combine magic and my phone, and I'll admit I was little confused on the setup at the start, but VI's team came in to save the day with step by step instructions on how to get myself up and running.

Absolutely mind blowing. I can't believe how simple it is to use. You probably have everything you need to memorize, already memorized (at least that's how I set mine up)! Passed the Spouse Test easily. Looking forward to performing this and will update my review once I've gotten some performances under my belt and I can get a good grip on how audiences react.
Scot
Very excited about this! Just got it up and running and it's remarkable. If you were skeptical about the promo video, I promise this project will not let you down. My reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because I was expecting more tutorial content. The creator does a good job explaining what you need to know, but it would have been nice to have several fully fleshed out effects time stamped, etc. But that's something he can always do in the future. I plan to use this A LOT!
Nick
If you do any memory work this is a must!

It worked exactly that way I wanted it to. Crazy quick & easy to learn, easy to use & easy to do. I absolutely love it.

If I’m being honest I didn’t know what to expect but if you have creativity this is more of a tool then a trick. I’m very excited to plan a routine around this, if you’re a working magician it is definitely worth it, it’s a for sure, easy to learn, utility that you can cater to any style you really want. My head is flowing with ideas for it, or even just the basic routine passed the spouse test!

I will say the tutorial is laughably horrible, I was shocked for 96 dollars Canadian at how bad the tutorial was shot, BUT something like this doesn’t need a tutorial honestly, it’s purely up to you and your imagination. All in all I don’t regret my purchase, I wish the price was a little lower but if it keeps it a little more exclusive then that’s kind of cool!

I’m tinkering with it currently and I think you need to as well!
Glenn
The tutorial is short of what you need for this and not to VI's usual standards.

It's a great app that does exactly what it claims.

There is a lot to do and understand to set it up well, but if there were a good tutorial you could be performing this in however long it takes to figure out what it is you already DO remember. Knowing that can go a long way to making the thing easier to do. It feels like there are some other routines that might use this as 'the secret' to some other interesting stuff.

I think it's very adaptable BUT it's going to take a lot of style and flair to act the part of the person you would be if you had the power this seems to give you, and yet the personal modesty to have kept it hidden until now.

my friends already "know" that I am 'researching memory' to use "to help me with magic." I just have to bring that to my audience and will have a great warm up opener for 'memorizing a full deck of cards at a glance' and locating a named card by number, and finish off by "remembering things from a different timeline".

I was ready to rate this 4 stars instead of 5 - because I love it, but I was pretty sure spectators would assume (rightly or wrongly) that it was some sort of app or otherwise write it off as something involving the magician's own phone (as if any of that, even if true, comes anywhere close to knowing secret). But then I started trying it - wow! It works! It fools! And it's a great trick.

I personally think there needs to be a magic trick element to it (which you can add easily, such as by predicting something in advance). Basically, in my view, I want to leave doubt in their mind as to whether I actually memorized thousands of phone numbers, so they're stumped as to what just happened.

The trick works exactly as seen on the video, and it fooled me, and it fooled my husband when I did it to him. I'm not sure why the other comments say the tutorial is bad -- I thought it was perfect, short, and I understood exactly what to do within 5 mins or so. Zero or almost zero practice required.

You really can tell them the phone number of any person they select from your contacts at random. And my first spectator on his own challenged me to say the birthday too and I was able to meet that challenge too. I really love my new trick and highly recommend it.

I personally can't imagine doing this for random ppl in the wild or at gigs -- but I still see it as the perfect trick to do for actual friends or family, and you can always be ready to do it impromptu and with almost no effort. It's just great. A+ guys

Clear and to the point.

  • Mac asks: italian?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Yes this is available in Italian
  • Charles asks: Do you actually need to have many contacts or are the contacts created and part of the method?

  • Scot asks: I have Hypermnesia and love it. One concern : if I upgrade to a new iPhone, will the project carry over as well? If not what would I need to do? Thanks in advance. Scot

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Hey, if you change phone please reach out to customer service who will be able to help with this
  • Alan asks: What if the participant wants to dial the number to check it is an actual person and they are who we say they are?

    • 1. Pierre responds:Absolutely possible! In fact, some routines shared in the Hypermnesia private group specifically ask the spectator to dial the number themselves on their own phone, and call the selected contact. This is often used in prediction-style effects, where the focus isn’t on testing memory skills but on creating a powerful reveal. The app is convincing enough to fool even the most skeptical spectators, especially when the routine is structured to focus on the effect, not the method.
  • Andreas asks: Hey! So I was going through the ad copy and an idea popped into my head — just wanted to run it by you. What if, before the show (like during ticket purchase), we collect the audience’s phone numbers and save them as contacts on a phone? Then during the show, we hand that phone to someone to perform Hypermnesia. They scroll through the contacts, pick a random name, shout it out — and that person stands up… and then we reveal their actual phone number! Is this possible?

    • 1. Pierre responds:No possible but great idea
  • Jim asks: If I do this with someone who knows most of my contacts and their information, will they be able to catch me? I guess the real question is, if someone picks my child out of the contacts, they will know DOB, phone, address, etc. Will I be busted because the method allows me to provide answers based answer provide by the application instead of the real info?

    • 1. Rick responds:You could be busted but you have the ability to remove any contact that may be a problem from the app.
    • 2. Pierre responds:It’s a risk if the person knows your contacts very well and wants to catch you. But there are tricks to avoid this. For example: you can show the real contact info in Hypermnesia before to start the effect. Or ask the person to choose a random contact, not someone too close. Some buyers already did it for friends and family, with success. Maybe not yet in front of someone who really wants to bust the trick. If you know someone like that… better avoid and play safe.
  • Dylan asks: If nothing is downloaded, does this product have the ability to swap what OS it's on? If I choose to use it with my Android today, can I use it with my iPhone tomorrow?

    • 1. Jim responds:You would need to license the app on both operating systems. Although I have not purchased this, I believe if you purchase Android, you should be able to install on all your Android devices. Same on IOS. Just can’t cross platforms. Also, the license agreement may limit us to only one device per purchase. Perhaps someone else can clarify for us
    • 2. Bassem responds:There are two separate apps: one for iOS and one for Android. You would need to purchase 2 licenses if you wish to use the app on 2 different operating systems.
  • Joao asks: I'm based in the UK. Can numbers be prefixed with the 075, 020, etc. or is the tool only displaying the ones shown in the video? Thank you.

    • 1. Bassem responds:Yes, the app works with any country prefixes, including the UK. You just have to specify the country in the Hypermnesia app settings: "Default Phone Format Country" option => select GB for Great Britain.
  • Harel asks: When it comes to languages that can be used, we mean the operating language of the device or of the contacts themselves And is it possible to help in order to make it accessible to another language? If relevant, I'd love to know who to talk to. thank you thank you

    • 1. Bassem responds:The languages refer to the app's language. You could import and use any contacts from any country or region regardless of the language of the app. You could reach out to the support team if you require more details.
    • 2. Harel responds:If I understand correctly, I can use the app in English but the contacts will be in my language regardless of whether it is not supported?!
  • Gregoire asks: Is there a limit in terms of number of contacts ? Any chance to have Italian as language or does it work with phone set up in french with italians contacts ?

    • 1. Bassem responds:You could import a few thousands of contacts with no problem. You could also modify the contact counts to make it look like you have more than what you actually have. Italian will be added in the near future.
