Easy-to-do mind reading that anyone can do!

Two opaque canisters and a single die are given to your audience to examine. Then, with your back turned, you ask someone to choose any number on the die, place it inside the canister, and seal it with the lid. As an extra precaution to ensure you (the mentalist) can't see anything, this canister is then sealed inside the other larger canister.

Despite these impossible odds, you know the exact number they chose! Everything can then be inspected again. There's nothing to find.

Total newbie to magic so this trick was a great starter. It's obviously designed for the beginner magician, probably a younger person than myself, but the lesson and tutorial is clear and easy and the technique and secret is also quite easy to grasp. The material is not high end, of course, but I do like that the items can be examined by the audience and no one will guess the method behind it. Won't take long to rehearse this and work on it and then can present and feel like a real magician. Easy little trick and a fun thing to pull out as an ice breaker at a party!
