Odyssey 2

"F#%&ing Brilliant!" Banachek
“Ten devastating mentalism effects... hidden inside one beautiful travel magazine. One of the greatest mentalism tools of all time!" David Penn
"One of the best effects that's ever been released for mentalists! It allows you to do a 20-minute mentalism act with nothing but this magazine. Worth its weight in gold!" Craig Petty
The original Odyssey became a fan favorite for one big reason. It didn’t feel like a magic prop. It looked normal, it felt normal, and it allowed you to perform strong, commercial mentalism using something everyone immediately recognized and understood.
“Odyssey 2” builds on everything that made the original so great, while refining the details that matter to working mentalists. With new features and ideas developed by Steve Valentine and Shawn Farquhar, it is even stronger and more practical for close-up or stage.
In its pages, you’ll find ten different effects, including the popular effect from the original Odyssey, “Drunk Monkey”, where a participant gets increasingly “drunk” by simply reading the names of drinks. Upgraded with new pages suggested by Shawn Farquhar and a powerful moment from Steve Valentine, where you sober the participant up by pouring real coffee straight from the magazine.
Here are some other things you can do with “Odyssey 2”:
- Take away someone's ability to read
- Reveal a thought-of word with randomly chosen Scrabble tiles
- Make one spectator read another's mind
- Perform Arthur Emerson's "Pegasus Page"
- Move your audience with Chris Philpott's emotionally charged "Unhypnotized."
- And that’s still not everything.
There is even a secret vision tester built right into the magazine.
Included is an in-depth 2-hour 20-minute training video with presentation ideas, performance tips, and clear guidance on how to confidently use “Odyssey 2”.
“Odyssey 2” is a full mentalism act packed into a beautifully designed luxury magazine that you’d see in an airport lobby or high-end hotel, designed for real-world performance.
Here is what the pros are saying:
"Odyssey is an incredible tool that looks like the genuine article and is packed with countless possibilities. It went immediately into my show at Hidden Wonders!" Shawn Farquhar
"I've been using the heck out of Odyssey in my corporate work, and it's been an absolute treasure for me. Such an amazing tool!" Cole Blalock
"It is absolutely perfect." Brett Barry

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.
Michael asks: Can you please tell me if the Cover Title/Name and Art is the same as or different from the first Odyssey release. In other words, can they be shown side by side as two Different magazines? Thank you.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Yes — they can be treated as two different magazines.
Dave asks: If I already have the original (and really like it), is there enough new content here to warrant the price point? Or is it just a refining of the original? It’s a subjective question but I’d love an honest response.
- 1. Jonathan responds:Fyi, the front and back of the magazine are exactly the same as the original. The changes/additions are inside the magazine only. Some performers might have an issue with that.
- 2. Chris responds:The biggest change to the magazine has to do with Drunk Monkey -- you can now make them sober again after making them drunk, which is a big plus. So if you perform Drunk Monkey, this is totally worth it. Apart from that, and Steve Valentine's pouring coffee from the magazine effect, most of the other changes are refinements.
Courtney asks: While the descriptions states that new ideas/effects have been added is this the same tutorial from the previous release?
- 1. Jim responds:Odyssey 2 includes access to both the original and the new video.
- 2. Scott responds:New: Shawn Farquhar's Extras for Drunk Monkey; Steve Valentine's Drink from Magazine Production; More Pictures for Image Reading; New Written Instructions; New Presentations & Text Changes.
