Over the past ten years, Peter Turner’s Masterclass series went from being underground to a foundational text in the field of propless mentalism. Rather than collecting gadgets and technology, the project focused on mentalism that you could do at a moment's notice, without having to carry anything extra.

After years of waiting, we’re proud to give this incredible project the physical release it deserves. These highly limited books aren't just gorgeous. They're packed with magic, mentalism, and techniques that will last a lifetime.

Customer reviews for Peter Turner's Mentalism Masterclass Set (13 Books)

First off you will not be disappointed in this purchase from the artwork to the binding of the books is great quality even the case that encloses the books I couldn’t be more happy…There is some cross over from the legacy collection but there is a whole lot more content here & not just because this has 3 books more than the legacy collection I also see some effects from the pk pocketbook none of this material is outdated if you are a collector,Peter Turner fan, or someone who wants to learn some of Peter’s work for the 1st time you will enjoy this

So far I have worked through the first Book. The great things are the quality of the set, how they look and the sheer mass of Information you will get. That alone was enough to justify my purchase. Yet I am dissapointed in a few things. So far in the first book there are a lot of editorial mistakes. Sentences are mixed up between two pages and need to be "deciphered". I have stumbled over quite a few typos and sometimes the typos really throw you off, like just straight up repeating something said before instead of leading with the new point it wanted to make. You can make sense of what was meant, but It's dissapointing because these are easy to spot mistakes that should not have stayed in books for this price in this mass (around 5-6 in 50 pages so far). Also, I'm personally a bit dissapointed that Peter tends to refer to other materials and dvds for techniques that would complement his techniques, but I knew the books weren't meant for beginners in the art of mentalism.

I don't regret my purchase at all and think I will learn a lot through all the books, butthe quality of the writing leaves a bit of a sour tastey

It blows my mind that you would go to the trouble of having Phill Smith design such intricately beautiful artwork for this re-release of the Masterclass e-books but not have the text itself professionally proofread. Peter is not a professional writer yet his insights are valuable. They deserve better. Reading this is a real slog. You end up having to parse sentences and paragraphs on the fly. Very disappointed in the Vanishing Inc "Support Wizard" who told me this series had been professionally edited (and then removed the question).

I was really excited for this set. Unfortunately, the books are very disappointing. The content is not the problem, but the formatting and editing is terrible. Sentences are incomplete. Line breaks appear in the middle of sentences. There are even sentence fragments that appear in the middle of another sentence. Of course, despite all of this you can figure out the man idea of what is being written, but for the price, I would have expected a fully edited series. This was very disappointing. If they ever reprint this they must edit!

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Conner asks: While going through the books, I noticed several sections where he mentions that “there will be a video link in a moment,” which I assume refers to a video to look up for certain effects. However, I don’t see any links provided on the pages. I may be missing something.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:please email us at wizards@vanishingincmagic.com and we can discuss this with you
  • Matthew asks: Has any material been added since Pete first released the masterclass series?

    • 1. Curt responds:I think there's some.
    • 2. Phill responds:Yes - once the books were 90% ready Peter went through them and sent details on updates and new pieces - the majority of the text is directly from the original ebook set but there are new and updated pieces across the set.
  • Mark asks: How many pages are there in the set of books? Thanks.

  • Jakey asks: Are the pictures of these books real photos? Because the previous electronic version of the masterclass wasn't this thick.

    • 1. Phill responds:Not sure how to answer this one: The books are real books, and they exist in real life. They are physically larger than the ebooks because the ebooks are ebooks.
  • Marek asks: Is it suitable for beginners who want comprehensive guide into mentalism or is it for more advanced magicians?

    • 1. Steve responds:It is better for more advanced magicians.
  • Andrew asks: Could you please provide the name of the illustrator for the covers?

    • 1. Jonathan responds:It’s Ai generated obviously as designing the covers of ten books would be crazy expensive, I work for an TTRPG company and bill for original artwork was thousands so now many gaming companies will use Ai generated art to save money….in my opinion though it’s not relevant to magic books….. I take the covers off all my hardbacks and woukd be happy if the only art is inside with illustrations of the moves….. having fancy cover art feels like a waste of money to pay out for? It’s the content that matters in a magic book not the fancy cover imo
    • 2. Thomas responds:Yes and no. Look above whats Phill (the illustrator) wrote.
  • John asks: Are these paper backs or hardback books?

    • 1. Jim responds:Paperback.
  • Steven asks: Are these the masterclass in book form or are there additional effects?

    • 1. Steve responds:It's a variety.
  • Diego asks: Can the books be purchased individually and as needed?

    • 1. Jim responds:They are only available in the full set. Sorry!
  • Joshua asks: Do these books covers feature original art or are they Ai generated? The aesthetic of this series looks nice from the thumbnails. I would be disappointed if Peter took the shortcut on the covers.

    • 1. Jim responds:They look like normal artwork to me.
    • 2. Phill responds:Hi, Phill here - the artwork in the books is mostly custom hand-drawn and sketched artwork that was rendered and processed through a series of digital methods that include generative AI to create the very specific aesthetic of those classic pulp novels - so I guess the answer to your question is "kind of both". It took an insane amount of time though so not quite a shortcut, and even if it was don't blame Pete!
    • 3. Joshua responds:Thanks for the answer, Phill. I appreciate the candor. I will be placing an order soon.
