From the mind of the late and great Max Maven, comes a brilliant, streamlined masterpiece of mindreading, fortune-telling, and pure mystery.

Here's what happens: A participant is asked to freely shuffle a deck of cards. You then display a book on divination, explaining that you've been studying Cartomancy-the ancient system of telling fortunes with playing cards.

An envelope is then given to the participant to hold as you explain, "Even though we've never met before, inside this envelope is a Cartomantic reading that I've prepared just for you. Let's see if the system works!"

The top five cards of the shuffled pack are taken and displayed by being inserted into the edge of the book. The spectator is told to choose any of the five cards. The selected card is, for example, the Four of Clubs. The four unchosen cards are shown to be all different. When the fortune is removed from the envelope, it reads:

"You have a compassionate nature and strong leadership potential. Your sense of humor is admired by others. Your lucky card is the Four of Clubs!"

Psi-Con Ruse is strong, direct mentalism that is surprisingly easy to do. Add it to your repertoire today!

Customer reviews for Psi-Con Ruse

Alexander
Definitely one of the better tricks by Max Maven. The method is ingenious and does require the special gaffed cards supplied (of course). However the presentations suggested in the tutorial cover quite a few variations and in some cases the techniques shown help greatly in being able to perform the trick with very little sleight of hand. And the ability to work on the presentation. With some added experience of some of the more practiced / experienced magicians it seems entirely possible to be able to elevate the viewers enjoyment of this to an even higher level. I wouldn’t say that execution was simple or easy at first but probably more comfortable after a short period of practice and a few concentrated presentations. I definitely think that it is more than worth the cost.
