From Max Maven comes a modern version of the classic Cards Across that’s streamlined, powerful, and incredibly fooling.

Here’s what happens:

You display four red-backed cards that are counted slowly and cleanly into a participant's hands. Across a stage or table, another participant is shown a small packet of blue-backed cards and asked to think of any card.

Then, with zero sleight of hand, the thought of card from the blue packet completely vanishes and impossibly reappears among the red-backed cards the first participant has been holding the entire time.

There’s no awkward handling or complicated setup. Just pure practical elegance that could only come from the mind of Max Maven.

“Shinkansen” is perfect for any performing environment, including close-up, parlor, and even stage, and the best part is, it’s incredibly easy to do!

It feels like mind-reading combined with real magic that’s perfect for working pros or hobbyists.

Customer reviews for Shinkansen

Vince
This is one of Max Maven's (Phil Goldstein) best packet tricks. Very easy to do. It does require just a little practice so the timing is perfect. If you do packet card tricks and want a variant on cards across you need to get this. Mine did not come with a card wallet but the gang at Vanishing kindly sent me one. Highly recommend.
