Some of our favorite magic isn’t done on a big stage, or even at a close-up table. It’s an intimate, impossible moment shared between two people. “Stellar” is exactly that.

You start by taking out a set of postcards wrapped in a rubber band and placing the rubber band around their wrist. The first of the postcards shows a classic optical illusion, a drawing that can be either an old woman or a young woman depending on your perspective.

You use this as an example, explaining that, as they look at the other postcards, they should be open to looking at them from different perspectives. After they freely select one of the illustrated postcards, perhaps the Star, you turn over the optical illusion card to reveal a poem that predicted their choice from the very beginning.

But that isn’t where things end. Not only does the poem reference the star image, but the first letter of every line spells out S, T, A, R! Even the other postcards, images of a tree, a river, a valley, and some plants, are rearranged to spell out “star”!

As a grand finale, you have them imagine that rubber band they’ve been holding as a shooting star. When they remove it from their wrist, it's now permanently changed into a star! You can even give it away as a souvenir.
