Marked Billets

I really wanted to like these, but the markings just aren't subtle enough. The difference between the cards was spotted the first 2 times I used them.

Also, the markings are on both sides of the billets. This is bad, because when one person is looking at their billet, if they look up they see the marked back of all the other billets and can tell they're different, which is exactly what happened to me the first time I used them (the participants were seated around a table). It'd make more sense (I think) if they were only marked on one side.

Fine for me. Almost to good quality. Depends on the crowd if they will notice. If it's so clear you are reading something then of course people will bust you. But good price for almost 200 cards. There are a few great routines included as well. There is a really cool routine with cell phone ring tones and whose ring is whose. These should get your creative juices going. And they look good and classy, so if you have upper end clients - then these will work great for classy jams.

I agree with both of the above reviews. They are a great value but you need to think outside the box with them. I have performed with them half a dozen times with NO “TELL”! You need to be subtle and keep moving along at a reasonable pace. DO NOT focus on the marks(obviously) and utilize misdirection to divert attention to the marks! Patter (as in all effect performances) is critical! I keep them stacked in dealer position until I’m ready to reveal the moment of magic. This reduces the opportunity for the audience to study, or compare the marks. They also make for perfect single billet performances. Much better than a Post It note or scrape of paper!
