This is the expanded (enlarged, if you prefer) edition. This is the only complete version. The Dover edition is incomplete and should be avoided by any magician that cares about publishing ethics.

How does this book differ from the Dover paperback publication of 1982 "Modern Coin Magic" by Bobo...specifically, what is this book's publication date? In other words, what puts the "New" in the title? thank you, Kenno

Magic Inc. was late by a few days in renewing the copyright, and Dover took unfair advantage of the situation. Jay Marshall asked Bobo to write up two new chapters so they could publish a new edition with a fresh copyright. I don't remember the exact year. If you want a incomplete cheap paperback, dubiously published, go with Dover. If you want to support the original creator and get a nicer hardbound version that includes two extra chapters, go with New Modern Coin Magic.

So the materiel (sleights, methods, tricks etc.) in this book is different from the original?

There are original from the old book and new materials in this book.

What is the differences between the new modern coin magic and the moder magic book?

They are totally different books.

An absolute must have for any coin magician or people looking to get into coin magic. You get everything from the basic sleights to routines that can get you started with coin magic. Highly recommended.

I got the paperback version in 1994. There is more in the hardback version. I feel that a book is better than a DVD. Learning from a book is Infront of you and you can go back and see the minute details. I highly recommend this book to any coin worker. I enjoy the DVDs to watch and learn from them too!

I started here; in my teens I had a copy and later bought and gave away my shorter Dover copy. This is the expanded version of New Modern Coin Magic and it is excellent! This and Ross's book are a lifetime of study and magic. Enjoy!

I recently received this book, and although I've only read some of this, and had a glimpse at the rest, I wish I had bought this particular book sooner, as it's a quality hard back book, with plenty of information and routines in this book, it's very easy reading a good size font too and plenty of sketches of these too, I also really like the format, the layout in this book too.

As opposed to "Modern Coin Magic", "The New Modern Coin Magic," is a far superior production of J.B. Bobo's work. Aside from the book being a nice, hefty hardcover, there are more (and better!) illustrations, and the print is big, bold, and easy to read.
The book itself is much longer with extra material not included in the aforementioned publication. 544 pages, over 400 tricks, and 600+ detailed illustrations!
The price? It may seem a little steep, but I can tell you, it's well worth it (c'mon, magicians know great magic books aren't cheap!)
If you're new to coin magic, this is probably one of the very best places to start.
