Bicycle Cthulhu Cardnomicon Playing Cards

Being a huge fan of his incredible work, we wanted to make a deck from one of our most beloved horror fiction writers -- H.P Lovecraft!

This deck is very important to us so lots of love, horror, blood and human sacrifices have been put into every aspect of the deck. This stems from the art detail to the card quality, and also turning the whole Ace Collectable team mad! But this is such a small price to pay to gain unlimited power from the Cardnomicon!

We wanted the Pips to have more meaning regarding why it was chosen to represent each character and deity.

Diamonds was chosen for Cthulhu, as we find diamonds deep in the ground, a metaphor for Great Cthulhu deep in the Pacific Ocean.

Hearts was chosen for Shub-Niggurath, as she is the elder god of fertility and mother of a thousand young, giving life and offspring.

Spades was chosen for Nyarlathotep, as we see him as conniving, deceptive and never trustworthy. So we wanted to make him into the spade suit as the spade reminds us of a tentacle like his faceless head and body shape. He represents the sharpness of the Spade point like his tongue, as he can cause so much harm from his manipulating ways.

Clubs was chosen for Azathoth, as he is described as the Nuclear Chaos, a boundless deity of colossal proportion. We pictured him sleeping in space while lesser entities play maddening tunes to keep his slumber. We thought this pip would be the best one for him as it's the largest. It could potentially be the shape of his body as we pictured him in our imagination.
