In the box, you get one blank face card, two matching jokers, and a neat Richard Turner card with the back face being a note of praise from Dai Vernon himself.
They’re traditionally cut and faro beautifully. I’ve given a few packs away to close friends who are better magicians/cardists than I, but the remaining decks will be hidden away and only used for special occasions. :p

These are just superb cards. Incredible, solid stock, pliable yet firm, perfect thickness. Standard cut for beautiful faro'ing. A joy to use and work with and handle. It's just a shame they're apparently (?) now out of production.
Since then I have been fortunate enough to collect some of Richard's signed decks.
I may be crazy, but in my mind the decks that will stand the test of time as the best decks ever produced for practicing magicians will be the Gold Standards and the two Superior Robusto Decks.
These "standard" Bicycle playing cards are not so standard. Gold Standard decks are manufactured via Richard Turner's exacting specifications and these cards handle exceptionally well. The main feature of these decks are the cards are traditionally cut. Which means when the cards are cut from their sheet, the cutting die is pressed at the face of the cards as opposed to the backs which is standard for the present day manufacturing process at USPCC.
Faro shuffling, table faros, a variety of shuffling and general card/deck handling is so much easier using traditionally cut decks. These decks cost a little more, but if you're a really serious card worker, these decks are a superb choice.

His work over the years of card manipulation is outstanding and he just keeps going. So, when they approached him to give out the feel of the deck he would like to have it was a no brainer.
My wife was getting me a present so it was going to be this deck. I kept one sealed and opened one. I can honestly say the feel and working of these cards are absolutely brilliant and are what a genius from Richard Turner would and should be. Its a pleasure to have what this man knows and am glad I have them.

The gold standard cards are the gold in the card magician's hands. It's hard to describe the feeling of the hand, but I assure you, it's definitely different from the normal bicycle cards.
First of all, it is extremly durable. Compared with normal bicycle cards, it's very difficult to ruin it, or make it unusable. Sweat affects much less to the gold standard cards. So if you sweat a lot like me, you must have the gold standard When I am performing, sometimes I become nervous, so my hands sweat a lot. The sweat may cause two or few cards becom a block, which makes a few moves very difficult to perform without be noticed. One proof of the durablity is that no matter how long you use the Gold Standard cards, you can always do a fluid thumb fan.
Second of all, it's thinner. It perhaps is because the bee stock used for the deck, but the Gold standard still feels a little different from normal bee cards. Well, it seems the Gold Standard is more flexible. Becuse of its thinner and more flexible texture, it makes certain moves easier to do. For example, I feel more comforable to do pinkie cout with the Gold Standard cards.
Last but not least, the gold standard is addictive. Once you have already used the gold standard, you will not want to use normal bicycle cards.
So, just buy it when you still can.
