Damien O’Brien introduces Hannya Playing Cards, a collectable tribute to the legendary Japanese Hannya Mask.

In Japanese culture, the Hannya Mask embodies the complexity of human emotions. It is both treacherous and mournful, each mood being determined by our own physical and emotional perspective. When looking at a Hannya Mask straight on, you’re greeted with a devious grin. However, when tilted down, a saddening frown appears.

Following the success of his Mandala Playing Cards, and drawing inspiration from his own Hannya tattoo, Damien has created a deck of cards that beautifully commemorates the symbolic mask.

Hannya Playing Cards feature a completely original Ace of Spades and Jokers, as well as fully-customized court cards paying homage to mischievous magicians like Daniel Madison and Jeremy Griffith. The Hannya Mask adorning the back design truly pops off the cards thanks to striking gold foiling, a theme that carries over to the stunning matte black tuck case. Be warned, it might feel like this mask is looking into your soul as it sits on display in your playing card collection.

These collectable playing cards are printed by Cartamundi on regular card stock. Each deck also includes a blank card.
