The epic poem was crafted by Dante Alighieri in the 14th century. Throughout the tale, Dante tells the reader about his journey through hell (inferno) where he meets some of the most famous characters from Christianity, Greek Mythology and Medieval Europe (Cain, Lucifer, Julius Caesar, Cerberus, Attila the Hun etc.).
