This rope is not bright white, but more of a natural offwhite. It it not particularly soft to the touch. My rating is particularly based on the fact that the rope that I received has a very odd 'glue joint' along its length. It looks like two ropes were half shoved into each other, half glued with hard yellow carpenters glue. I can certainly cut around that for the lengths that I will be using (Professor's Nightmare and such), but thought other should know that this is not 'clean' along its entire length (in case you need long lengths, e.g. for tricks like the Mongolian Pop-Knot). The old that you get what you pay for clearly applies. But for the low price, not terrible.

Excellent rope at a great price. Lesson learned though: If you're planning on gluing the ends, do not use superglue.
