Customer reviews for 50' Rope Uday (White)

Michael
This rope is great to practice with but I will never use it in a show. Why? It's stiff, always looks wrinkled, there are splices in the rope, like where two pieces were glued together with crazy glue. I would never use this stuff on stage. Never. This is very below standards of Vanishing INC.

I go through a lot of rope - about six feet per show. For years, I've been purchasing 300' spools of 3/8 inch, bright white rope from Denny & Lee. That source is now gone, so I'm on a search for a new supplier. Last week, I purchased five separate rope products from Vanishing Inc Magic. I often find that retailers don't provide the information I want to know about their rope products. Granted, they are likely providing whatever specs the manufacturer provides. Thus, I am writing reviews for the five products I have purchased and hope that you find them helpful.

Cost: 32 cents per foot ($16.00 for 50 ft)
Color: grayish white
Thickness: 3/8 inch - with the core intact
Core: yes - approximately 50 threads
Feel: With the core in place, this rope is firm to the squeeze, yet limp in handling. With the core removed, the rope becomes very limp.
Other: With the core removed, you are left with a very limp rope with a hollow center which is not quite large enough to accept the insertion of a 5/16 inch Bic pen.

I agree with other reviewers that this isn't top quality rope, but it's workable. It is soft and supple enough to be easy to handle but still has enough stiffness that I can hold out 3-4 inches of an end before it starts to fall over. I've worked through most of Fulves's self-working rope book with this rope and not had any trouble with this rope.
Dan
The rope is workable but not excellent. For effects that I use it for should not affect my use of it.
Evan
This rope has helped me practice all of my rope routines but I don't think I would use it in a show. The rope is thin, hard to cut, and has weird nots in it. It would be nice if Vanishinginc could putt out a more professional version that still kept the price relatively low. Overall decent product though.
