Just a really fun prop to use! Can be used for a funny gag also.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this, having been let down by hollow latex eggs before. I'm very impressed however. The construction seems to be a very thin skin around an egg shaped sponge ball, giving it a surface texture far more egg like than just a sponge ball alone. The skin is a little wrinkly but I think that adds to the charm. the skin on mine had a little hole at the bottom, presumably to let the air out.
This egg is white, which is probably great for the USA but I'd love to get one which is UK egg pinky brown. Maybe an idea for a future product line?
