As with Murphy's sponge balls, the quality is eggcellent (I'm not even sorry for that) with great feel and lovely rebound. They are, after all just white, egg-shaped sponge balls.
For those wondering, they look very spongey up close but from 3ft or more they could pass for real eggs.
If you're buying these you probably already have some ideas for their use. But if you don't or you just wanted something other than balls for a change then the download that comes with them will get you started.
There are two downloads: The first is care of your sponges and the second is a 25 minute video which covers the basic vanish and a fun routine.
The routine starts with one egg, turns it into two and then goes into a nice version of egg/s to spectator's hand.
In conclusion, the Magic Sponge Eggs are a great fun alternative to balls and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I’ve been performing sponge magic for a number of years using a variety of sponge products including sponge balls, sponge bunnies, sponge eggs, sponge dove, sponge bananas, sponge sandwich, sponge birthday cake, etc. Routines using sponge eggs have always been a favorite of mine because for some reason, magic effects utilizing eggs are unique and humorous to kids and adults alike. However, an issue I’ve experienced is finding descent looking sponge eggs that closely resemble the real thing and have the feel and handling ability necessary for a proper sponge magic presentation. I recently saw on the Vanishing Inc. website where Murphy’s Magic offered a four pack of sponge eggs at an ‘egg-ceptional’ (pun intended) price and I ordered a set. When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find four very nice looking sponge eggs secured in a professional looking cardboard box thats perfect for storage and transporting. The eggs are perfectly proportioned to resemble as close to real eggs as possible. The eggs are super soft, have ‘egg-cellent’ resilience, and are easy to manipulate. A very informative on-line tutorial explaining handling techniques, a routine and care and maintenance is available. I’m proud to say that these sponge eggs will certainly be utilized in my close-up performances. Highly recommended.
