Most Add-A-Number pads look a bit odd. They're dated, bulky, and don't make a lot of sense. Who would have a leather holder for just a couple of pieces of paper? Aside from looks, your participants can open the wrong part, and if you want to refill it, you're forced to buy expensive refills.
But not anymore! Scott Alexander has solved all that and more with his brilliant Bias Pad. Not only does it look natural and modern, but it uses Post-It style notes, making refills a breeze. It works. A lot better than the old "dangling pencil on a string" method. The switch is very nice and easy to do. No suspicious moves.
However, for the price, it is a bit much. The cover is plain black leather so no need to worry about a give-away look. But square sticky note holders are not a common item.
There is, or was, a flip cover note pad that did the same thing and looked much more natural.
There is also a sticky pad notepad does the same thing using a leather cover in the style of a pocket notebook that looks more natural. This is produced by a foreign company.
BUT - it does work and takes up little pocket space.
