A timeless illusion with a new mechanism from TCC as part of its "Classicho" brand.

To resurrect an age-old magic trick for modern magicians, TCC traced its origins and discovered a variation that has been overlooked, but is incredibly clever. It elevates the prop from an underutilized kid's magic set prop to a powerful effect for pros.

Historical records show that the "Long and Short" prop was first crafted by P&L back in 1934. It was a fantastic visual effect known as the "Stretch-It Boom-E-Rang". The basic effect involved the magician displaying two identical curved boards, and then continuously making one of them appear longer than the other. Haenchen and Viking added their spins on the effect in the late 20th century by adjusting the final size. Although, the core principle remained the same.

By capitalizing on a geometric illusion and psychological influence, this dazzling illusion has amazed audiences for nearly a century. Even today, it's a staple in magic sets. However, TCC felt that it's true potential was still untapped.

Featuring a devious embedded magnetic mechanism, the "Classicho Long and Short" elevates the magical impact without sacrificing aesthetics or the core principle of the trick. It introduces a new evolution for this classic effect that allows the audience to examine the props once you're done.

Carefully handcrafted from premium ebony wood, these elegant props are a joy to use. The uniformity of the carved lines combined with the perfectly hidden embedded magnets to make them a sight to behold.

"Classicho Long and Short" by TCC is one of the easiest ways to add a pure moment of magic and wonder to your shows.

Customer reviews for Long and Short (Classicho)

Peter
Look up front I have a soft spot for any TCC product but will always give an honest product review. Now this offering from them is a take on one's you get in cheap magic sets but is in no way cheap. As with everything said about thisit opens another option of confusion. Beautifuly constructed and packaged well. Comes in the magnetic latched box of the Classicho series which is good to see. I just wish TCC would stick to ideas of this caliber and do away with some of their cheaper offerings. While still some way from what Tenyo delivers this is a series and company worth collecting. AAA+ one for the collectors...buy 2 so one can be used for shows.

  • Peter asks: Hi Vanishing...does this come packed on a box like other TCC products or are they loose in a plastic type bag etc...thanks everyone.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:This comes in a box not a plastic bag
  • Cyril asks: Hello! These props look gorgeous! Where is the ebony wood from? A concern is that ebony is often harvested through illegal logging. Some sources, however, are sustainable and are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
