Get Out

"Get Out" by Timothy Paul is the perfect addition to your close-up set. It's rare that you can add an interlude that offers a clear premise, comedy relief, and visual magic, all in one moment. The effect is simple: you fail to find a selected card, and so instead suggest using a "Get Out of Jail Free" card from a popular board game. The card then disappears and reappears as a playing card...the selected card.
What you receive with "Get Out" is a stunning, handmade gaff that allows you to change a small board game piece into a playing card. Splitting cards, small magnets, and a lot of painstaking time have been spent hand-crafting each of these gimmicks. They will last a lifetime and there's no moving parts that can wear out, snap, break, or come loose. It will work forever.
"Get Out" is an ideal piece for formal close-up, parlor, or strolling magic, and the gaff comes with an instructional download in which creator Timothy Paul takes you through every step of the process.
Includes handmade gimmick and online instructions.

Kam asks: for some one with small hands how hard would you say it is both moves you have to do and also the skill.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:It's pretty simple, the gaff does most of the work for you.
Lawrence asks: Would it be possible to manually alter the artwork? i.e. to change it from a get out of jail card to something else by perhaps gluing a different face to the card? Thanks.
Charlie asks: Hey, V inc. Is there a choice of what card we get? Thanks
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Unfortunately not.
Thomas asks: I perform a routine which has a force card which continues to appear and disappear. It would be great if the spectator's card could match that other card. Is the spectator's card always the King of Hearts? If so, is it easier to create gaffed alternates?
- 1. Timothy (creator) responds:The card will always be a court card, depending on which one you receive when you purchase Get Out. It will be pretty difficult to create your own gaff but not impossible!
Royce asks: Can the card be examined afterwards?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:No, it's a hand-made, heavily gimmicked card.
- 2. Timothy (creator) responds:Hey Royce, thanks for your question. To correct Vanishing inc. response here the card CAN be examined afterwards. Mike asked the same question (two questions up) and Vanishing Inc response there was with a minor move. That’s the correct answer :)
Akane asks: Can you show the get out of jail card front and back before the change
- 1. Agustin responds:Don’t see the reason why, but there is something included that might facilitate/help you to do that, but don’t see the need to do it. “In my opinion”.
Mike asks: Can the audience inspect the playing card after the switch
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Yes, with a minor move.
Christophe asks: Does this trick use a force?
- 1. Agustin responds:The gimmick will help you to accomplish that, and is clearly explained by Tim.
Richard asks: Is the gimmick silent? Also do you need to have the gimmick in sight like in the video / it would make more sense to ring it in after you ‘made a mistake’ thanks....
- 1. Agustin responds:There is a variation that Tim explains on the instructional video.
One asks: Is this actually practical or is it the type of trick where you need specific light setting and tricky angles?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:No lighting requirements at all and very good angles.
