“Mortenn’s Jumbo Card Trick” is the perfect example of why many consider Mortenn to be one of the most creative magicians in the world. You hand a completely normal deck of cards to the audience to be shuffled. A jumbo card is also introduced and placed somewhere that will remain in full view. Once the audience is done shuffling, the deck is retrieved and you invite someone (or several someones) to help you choose a card in the cleanest and most direct way possible.
The deck is split into two halves. Your audience selects which one you will toss away (no equivoque). This is repeated until you have just a few cards left. These cards are spread and someone chooses the exact card they want. Despite how impossibly fair this whole process was, both the selection and Jumbo cards are turned around to reveal they perfectly match.

This arrived today and I've already watched the tutorial. Whilst the mechanics are super simple this is also the beauty of the effect and means you can focus on any presentation you wish. This really is the definition of packs small plays HUGE! 1000% recommend you buy this if you're a parlour/stage performer. Now I just need to find a hat! 🧢

I saw Mortenn lecture this effect at The Session 2023, but the lecture notes where it was mentioned had sold out by the time I had gotten over there. I'm so glad I've finally purchased this, the method is so simple yet so clever, the routine is like a joy to perform and it's a fun, exciting and engaging trick that fits nearly everyone's personalities. Clever principle, - I think - , although I could tell immediately from the way it was demonstrated in the promo video exactly what was happening when his hand adjusted the chosen card behind the prediction jumbo card. So I didn't buy it to learn the secret. I like the pocket version better than the hat version as the method seems less obvious and in practicing I found it a lot easier to accomplish the secret without making the adjustment noted in the promo and the instructional video. I plan to use this. I like the comedy of throwing away the unchosen cards and the totally free choice. But I don't want to lose a deck of Bicycle cards each show. So I may try to make it up using cheapo decks from Dollar Tree.

This is perfect for a comedy break. Excellent and simple to do. Thinking of picking up a card from the floor, (bend over, change your mind, stop halfway,switch cards) movement deception switch. This is simple and a great fooler.

Very easy to perform so it allows you to focus on your presentation. Also, the fact that it packs supper thin makes it a great addition if you are traveling by air with your props. While it is great for stage, it is easy enough to reset that it could even be used while strolling tableside. Wouldn't recommend it for a cocktail party situation as you have to watch your angles slightly.

I had no idea how the effect was accomplished (I'm not the most experienced Magician, so I often have no clue when watching a trailer), and I am very happy with the the method.

Definitely fun to perform. Using the gaff takes a little practice (a few hours for me) to perform comfortably and keep imperceptible to the audience. It packs small and the cardboard case it ships in protects the product.

Awesome and simple. Im excited to try this out in front of people. The presentation may need to be adjusted as the creators humor is not my style at all but it has the same feel as bill abbotts smart ass deck but it can be done with a non gimmicked-deck. It seems like a trick that can be added in at any point in your show but i will prob do it first to introduce my character.

This is a great effect, HOWEVER, both of the jumbo cards that I received were cut substantially different than the jumbo card Mortenn uses in the demo/instructional video. Many thanks to Vanishing Inc.'s excellent customer service for replacing the first jumbo card. Without exposing the method, suffice it to say that both Mortenn's Jumbo Cards that I received cannot be used in a close stand-up environment for people with good eyesight. It would be quite easy for the spectators on the front two rows to see the method. I am giving this four stars, because I like the trick and should be able to make one that is cut better and will be safer to use without the chance of exposure.

I was fooled, badly, by the performance. The method is super easy and ready for performing within an hour of watching the instructions. The only caveat is this should not be performed as a close-up magic effect. It's so much more fooling with at least 10-15 feet of separation from your audience. (Or risk getting busted!)

I have ben using this now for almost a year and it kills every time. If you don't wear a hat and don't want to use your pocket try sticking the card in your belt. Creatively use a clothes pin or some other clip device. I love, love, love this!

This is sooooo clever!!! I could have watched the performance one hundred times and I would have never guessed the actual method. And it's so easy for the reaction you get. Totally worth it! With some adjustments, I think it could work in close-up too. Hard to reset though (unless you don't mind carpeting a whole restaurnat with cards XD)

This is really one of the most brilliant stand up card tricks I have seen in 50 years of doing magic. It is direct, clean, and looks totally natural. Tossing the cards is not me but I'm sure springing or waterfalling them into a ditch box on the floor will also work fine. 5 stars.

A really ingenious way to turn a card trick into a big stage act here. Morten’s turns a great secret into a way to a very funny card act, but your actual performance of it can change to your style. It can be serious mentalism or goofy as you’re taught here.
Aside from what you get, Morten’s tutorial was great too. Because it’s a real worker that he’s done a million times, he explains why you do things at certain points of the trick and why alternate handlings aren’t as strong. The motivations he explains are great.

This is a great fun trick for your audience and so very easy to perform. The instructions are clear and precise and the trailer/ performance is exactly what happens. Ingenious gimmick and made to last a lifetime. If you want amaze your audience and have fun yourself this needs to be in your repertoire. Highly Recommend. A++++++++++++++++++++
