“The Nova Rings are the perfect modern solution to this plot. Along with Carisa’s presentations, these rings are the perfect addition to everybody’s repertoire.” Asi Wind

“The Nova Rings add the design feature we have all desperately wanted! If you have explored similar gaffs, from traditional Himber to high end Porper you will be thrilled to see that special “something” that has always been missing but so logically needed has finally been made available. They look good, work well and allow for an ease of handling simply not possible with any other design.” Luke Jermay

“Carisa has performed the Himber Ring more than anyone in the last ten years, and Nova Rings is the culmination of that experience. Thoughtfully designed, beautifully made, and built to solve the real problems performers face. Highest recommendation.” Nick Locapo

“The Nova Rings are beautiful and ingenious! Carisa’s teaching video is thoughtful and generous. She explores the multiple presentations and handlings, shares history, gives proper credits, and shares insights that are too often absent from modern instruction. The specially designed case allows you to "get in and out" of the routine with ease and grace, keeping the focus your performance. This is precision crafted magic, created with depth, respect, and a true love for the art.” Jeff McBride

"The perfect magic gimmick, paired with a stellar magic routine that anyone can perform." Dave Kaplan

The Linking Finger Rings is one of the most intimate and powerful pieces of magic you can perform. But its methods have always had compromises. After years of struggling with existing gimmicks, Carisa Hendrix (the person behind the social media sensation Lucy Darling) set out to create a version with cleaner linking and unlinking that would fit a modern audience. The result is “Nova Rings”, the most visual and by far the easiest version of the Linking Finger Rings ever to be created.

Three rings are borrowed from the audience. You take two of the rings, give them a squeeze, and instantly link them together. The third ring you tap against the other two, and it visibly links onto them. Then, just as easily as they linked, you can unlink one of the rings and give it back immediately. To unlink the last two, you ask the ring’s owner to hold out their hand, and they watch as their ring melts right off. It’s that clean. There are no awkward moves; just clean, pure, magic. Don’t believe us? Watch the trailer and see what "Nova Rings" are capable of.

"Nova Rings" are exquisitely engineered to be the best Himber Rings out there. This new gimmick allows for links and unlinks that were previously impossible. You can have the rings melt off your finger, place them in your palm and squeeze them to link them, or even toss them onto the stem of a wine glass. Carisa personally tested over a dozen prototypes to ensure they’ll withstand anything you can throw at them and look great while doing so.

The rings are modeled after the profile of a popular metal band and fitness tracking rings (such as Oura Rings), which makes any switch virtually imperceptible. The rings are indistinguishable from what you would find on your audience’s fingers, and the minimalistic design removes any sense of a gimmick being in play.

Each set of "Nova Rings" includes all three gimmicked rings (black, gold, and silver) and matching ungimmicked rings. Everything is designed to be transported in the included case, which not only stores the gimmicks and non-gimmicked rings but can even help facilitate the secret move. You’ll also receive detailed video instructions from Carisa on the rings’ history, ideas, and, of course, routines. Carisa insisted that we include five live performances so that you can see different variations of her routine and how she adapts it to different venues. But you don’t have to be Lucy Darling to pull off these presentations; they are designed to be used by any performer, regardless of your style. (But if you are Lucy Darling, it would look something like this!)

Carisa’s precision-engineered gimmicks are based on Pete Biro’s “Ghostly Finger Rings” design and is used with permission from the Joe Porper estate. This unique design allows you to use normal-looking rings instead of the clunky signet rings typically used for this effect. When it was released in the 1990s, just one of the “Ghostly Rings” retailed for $700. In this set, you get three. Carisa’s changes to the design allow you to do clean links and unlinks, and you can even use the "Nova Rings" close-up and right in front of the audience’s noses.

"Nova Rings" is a guaranteed show-stopper. This is one of the most talked-about pieces in Carisa’s shows, and now it can be one of the most talked-about pieces in yours. Get yours exclusively at Vanishing Inc. today!

Included: Three gimmicked rings, three matching regular rings, and the custom holder designed to transport the rings and be used in performance.

“Carisa Hendrix’s Nova Rings are perfect; the best solution to the linking finger rings since Joe Porper’s. And the kit is fantastic and well thought through: what you would expect from a true working pro.” Randy Pitchford

“The visual penetration in Nova Rings is beautiful and unlike any other Himber ring routine on the market. It’s definitely worth your time and consideration.” Eric Jones

“Look, this is Carisa Hendrix, so you already know this was designed by one of the top minds in magic. Rings of this quality just don’t come at prices like this. And that’s before you even consider the incredible routining that you’re getting from Carisa.” Matt Donnelly, The Mind Noodler

"Nova Rings is the culmination of Carisa’s decade-long study of the Himber Ring plot. This is thoughtful, bold and important work, worthy of study." Tom Stone

“Carisa’s new Nova Rings lets you actually relax while performing the linking finger rings. It’s practical, stylish, and opens the door to some beautifully unique moments. It’s also super fun to play with!” Chad Long

"Wow, such a visual piece of magic! This is definitely a worker." Frankie Foti

"If you are interested in doing this trick, look no further than the Nova Rings." Levent Cimkentli

The links and unlinks are beyond visual! Such a magical moment, that can’t be achieved with other Himber Rings. You can really tell how much thought was put into making these as easy to use as possible. Paige Thompson

Carisa Hendrix’s Nova Rings is truly one of the best linking finger ring routines I’ve ever seen. This is a proven, professional piece that you can put straight into your show. The set comes complete and ready to go, with beautifully crafted rings and several styles to choose from. It’s rare to find a routine that’s this polished and practical right out of the box. Highly recommended! Ken Scott

Customer reviews for Nova Rings

David
So great. Got this at MagiFest. Love the craft and thought that goes into it. It's Himber ring as we know it on steroids.
Mark
After viewing the excellent tutorial and three uncut performances (using different audiences, premises and handlings), I am very impressed with the Nova Rings. Carissa's detailed tutorial is filled with insight, nuance and humor. I have owned several different high quality (and pricey) gimmicked rings and this set promises to be a much-needed improvement that allows for smooth, efficient performing. The one handed linking of two rings and the hyper visual unlinks are, dare I say it, poetic. Most importantly, Carissa's refined routining and simplified handling proves that this stage-worthy illusion can also be a memorable parlor or close up stunner. Bravo!
Daren
This is dam beautiful, gorgeous set of rings and brilliant routine, it is something that will go into my sets, there is a way to perform this close up using just your ring and two borrowed rings, get yours examined and borrow two more and voila same effect, yes you are using yours but if they examine to their hearts content there there should be no suspicion, love this
John
The Nova Rings are the only Himber style rings you will ever need! I was very excited when these were finally released from Vanishing Inc, I bought them as soon as they became available. The set of rings you receive are beautifully engineered and designed and awesome to look at.

The tutorial quality is top notch and well thought out. Carisa is an amazing teacher and breaks down everything step-by-step as it relates to the logic, psychology, nuances of each performance handling - 2 stage handlings and one for closeup as well.

Overall, the Nova Rings are definitely a "worker" prop which I highly recommended for any magician looking for a linking finger rings effect. The Rings solve many of the traditional problems with the classic Himber rings effect and provide a practical, reliable, and highly deceptive tool for creating powerful magical moments of astonishment and wonder for your audience. Add them to your magic arsenal today!

I have to start off by first saying that I own another very expensive linking ring set so I was hesitant to take the plunge on a second. Boy am I glad I did though. The mechanism that allows the magic to happen is genius work and becuase of that the ease and visuals of the penetration is beyond what I could have ever expected. I haven’t even watched the tutorial yet and this is a 5 star purchase. If you could do this effect with actual magic I am pretty sure you would gain almost nothing in terms of visual presentation the gimmick is that smooth and that good. If you have any interest in this effect this kit is a must buy. I promise you this is nothing like any himber ring you have ever had. Thank you to the person who responded to my question and convinced me to buy this kit even though I had what I now would consider the 2nd best linking ring effect on the market. Bravo to VI and the creator for this bad ass take on a classic effect. 7 out of 5 stars.

This is my first ever linking finger rings set and I think the bar is set really high. The rings are well made and the system Carisa came up with for the ring is very clever and very versatile. The teaching was great as well, a lot of details were shared, and you can feel Carisa has definitely worked this in.

These props feel like a beautiful love letter to the collective respect and admiration so many of us have for this effect and the history attached to it. If you’ve ever wanted this effect in your show, these props allow you to perform rather than panic. I’m, quite simply, floored.

I’ve never purchased something faster. Nor have I been this excited since I saw my first show as a kid and decided in that moment to learn about magic. Building on so many innovations that came before, Carisa and VI have accomplished something truly spectacular. Additionally, for those like me who already have and love Regal Rings, I can confidently say that you'll want to add Nova Rings to your arsenal.

A long time ago...

I was interested in purchasing a Himber ring; however, when I saw one up close it looked different than all the rings I've seen and it was really expensive. As years when by, the cost for one ring never improved and the rings didn't (to me anyway) look like a common ring that people wore.

When I heard of the Nova Rings, I did not take note of the item because of its cost until I saw a review, which then led me to look into it a bit more. I was amazed at the linking of the rings with ease int its handling, a problem which was a problem even I saw in performance of this effect in the past. The one effect that sold me on this item was holding two separate rings in the hand, closing the hand and when the hand was opened the rings were linked.

While the cost of this effect is high, you are getting a lot of quality hardware for your money. You're not getting one, not two...but three gimmicks and three matching solid rings. The gimmicks are precision made and how they are used in performance is ingenious. You are also getting a 'pencil' cup which is used as a utility device and it also serves as storage for all six rings. Everything included in this set is of excellent construction and quality.

Carisa provides an excellent tutorial on how to use and perform this multi-phase effect. Her explanations are succinct, easy to understand and she adds all her experienced performances as performing tips.

If you've been considering a linking finger ring effect, look no further, this is a great choice.

First rate quality usable product in all respects! The gimmicks, the instructions, the routining are all outstanding. Carisa took a classic effect and took it to the next level! It's wonderful for us that she shared this with the community and I'm very happy with this purchase.
Rick
Great looking rings. And it is surprising how theu do match very closely to probably 80 per cent of people.
The bigger the audience - almost for sure you'll hit a match.
It would have nice though to all about this on the project. When you borrow valuables or personal items I do get a little worried. And it would have been nice to hear about some difficult expereinces or do's and don'ts. And ultimately worse case scenario protections.
The performances are amazing and really show how powerful a walk into a crowd can be. That was very instructional.
The rings do give a great topic for conversation, comedy and emotions.
But I was curious about the stooged aspect of such performances. And I am curious to how many past performers borrowed rings to audience members, How was this done ? What should be said ? Just feeling that by giving a non gimmicked ring to someone and then ringing in the gaff might be cool. The tradional ways were not discussed and pre showing or stooging were not discussed.
It's straight up - you're going to convince all no switch could take place. Which is very strong. But will take great audience management and performance.
Look forward to my journey with these.
Adam
Props are top notch and the instruction is very detailed, nobody gets left behind!

  • Michael asks: Hi I just received through Alex Kirk of Monster Magic. Is there a way I can down load my tutorials so I can save to my hard drive yours faithfully Michael Lyth

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Please email us at wizards@vanishingincmagic.com and we can look into this for you
  • Chris asks: Can this routine be done onstage with a closeup camera? Or does it rely on the fact that one of the spectators can't fully see 'their' ring up close?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Yes, it can! Carisa does it often!
  • Raaed asks: Can we hand out the rings for inspection? One would definitely suspect there is something fish with the same ring on which other rings are being linked on to.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:All the rings are borrowed in this routine.
  • Michael asks: Would it be possible to do this effect in a walk around situation.

    • 1. Daren responds:Yes see my suggestion above using your ring and two other rings
  • Simon asks: Would these rings work for Paul Romhany’s routine “Merge”?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Hi, Although the routine would work with a few adjustments they aren’t designed to do this routine so you may encounter some difficulties and need to change a few sections
  • Daren asks: For those that are worried about not showing all 3 rings as the spectators, why not wear one of the ungimmicked rings, get it examined thoroughly by spectators and then borrow 2 more and you still get the same effect, albeit not all spectators rings but they feel it is as they examined your ring to their hearts content

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Thanks for the great suggestion
  • TJ asks: I wondering if it’s worth the buy if you already own regal rings? I love the effect but I am just unsure if it’s worth to have two expensive versions.

    • 1. Daren responds:I used to own Regal Rings and trust me Nova Rings is easier to use in my opinion
  • Christopher asks: There's a moment in every Himber routine that's dirty/ fidgety to make sure all 3 spectators get to examine their rings. I would love to see that moment before I purchase.

    • 1. Matthew responds:The 10 min video above shows the complete routine, the moves that do happen are visible. One nice thing about Carissa’s approach is it minimizes the fidgety moves. When walking around with the 3 linked rings amongst the audience, no move happens.
    • 2. Daren responds:If you own Interpreting magic by David Regal he has a linking finger ring routine that allows 3 spectators to see their ring linked
    • 3. Rick responds:The routine flows very smoothly and the rings are almost always in view. I like the casual and implied "of course it's the rings from the audience why would I do it with other rings" approach rather than the test conditions challenge approach - which may actually raise more suspicion. I have purchased and am satisfied with the scripting, routine to cover your question.
  • Geoffrey asks: I realize they are not necessarily meant to be worn, but what size are the rings?

    • 1. Jim responds:These were made approximately to a size 10.5 ring size.
  • Nick asks: Do you think this could be used for close up strolling magic? Or does it require the traditional audience mgmt where one audience member never gets too close a look at the linked rings

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:It can for sure work close up!
