Rewrite the laws of gravity with “On Edge” by Angelo Carbone.

"Beautiful! The best balancing effect I've seen!” Derren Brown

"Holy S%@T! I love this!!!!!!" Chris Kenner

Few magicians push the boundaries of magic like Angelo Carbone. His creative brain works on a different level and he has once again gifting the magic community with a mind-blowing gem. “On Edge” is a gravity-defying effect that will leave every audience speechless.

"The method is so ingenious; it feels magical to me when I am actually doing it. So real and so clever! I genuinely love it!" John Archer

After building a house of cards, you start to methodically remove cards one at a time. You can feel the tension building in the audience as each card is taken away. Everyone holds their breath when you finally remove a card that seemingly should make the entire house of cards tumble down

..…yet, it doesn’t.

Instead of crashing back to earth, your card castle impossibly balances on a single point like an olympic gymnast. The laws of gravity no longer apply as the cards teeter on a razor's edge. Even as the performer, who knows the method, you'll find it difficult for your brain to comprehend what is happening.

Then, right as everyone’s brains start to accept this new reality, you bring everyone back to earth by renewing gravity. With an effortles touch, the delicate house of cards comes tumbling down. A spectacular visual finale to the dreamlike performance.

No special skills are required to perform “On Edge”. In fact, it’s even easier to build than a normal house of cards. The gimmick comes ready to go, allowing you to start learning and performing right away. Any non-slip surface (like a table or even a book) becomes your stage for defying gravity.

  • Easy to learn and perform
  • Comes ready to go out of the box
  • Ambidexterous design for both right or left-handed magicians
  • Perform fully surrounded
  • Works on any non-slip surface

"It's a F–-ng Miracle!" Adam Rubin

"Brilliant! The most logical structure to balance impossibly. As ever a beautiful mind Mr Carbone." Marc Spelmann

"Amazing and gorgeous! The best thing I have seen in a long time” David Regal

"Wow! 'On Edge' is incredible!!! So fooled." Andi Gladwin

“On Edge” by Angelo Carbone is one of the biggest releases of the year. Get yours now from Vanishing Inc. before they’re gone!

Note: The "On Edge" gimmick is designed to be used with Blue Bicycle Cards. It is currently not available in any other colors or designs.

A beautiful display "IF" everything is perfect. Making the card castle is step one but doing the two card balance is a whole other feat.
I was hoping for more stability with the gimmick. For example, Joshua Jay's Balance is more of a sure-fire guarantee where as On Edge is exactly as the title suggests... You're on edge the whole time.
Setting up the castle in front of the audience is no longer in the cards (pun intended). I will use this on special occasion and have the sculpture pre-setup.

Another thrilling example of Angelo Carbone's creative ingenuity. On Edge exploits numerous methods at once to create this startling, impossible balance effect and it makes for a memorable image. Long-term durability of the materials provided is something to be considered as the inner workings are relatively delicate, but proper care and maintenance should go a long way.

An ideal piece for a more formal performance setting, but you can also get mileage out of this in a casual arena with the right conditions.

I was really intrigued by this item so I took a shot and spent the money hoping it would be worthy but unfortunately I was wrong. This is not practical to use in the real world of magic. It’s more of a puzzle effect and I personally can’t find a way to work it into my playlist. It takes too long to get it right and isn’t interesting enough to keep and hold a spectators attention. I have other Carbone effects that are worthy. This one is sitting in my magic room next to Joshua Jay’s balance trick as a visual conversation piece.

I will give this 5 stars because it is a 5 star effect when everything goes perfectly - which I think is possible to do consistently with time and practice. The effect became infinitely more doable after applying my own "refresh" of some of the working. After that, I went from being successful in maybe 1 out of 5 practice attempts to 3-4/5, so it should be able to see performance soon!
