Santa Claus Plays Hide and Seek combines two classic routines: the "Die Box" and "Run Run Rabbit".
You show a Christmas decor, the very place where Santa's house is located. You then open the house and discover Santa Claus smiling with his bag full of gifts and mention to the audience "Do you know why no one has ever seen Santa Claus before? It's because he becomes invisible when he enters the chimney."
No one will believe you, so you can offer to show them this Christmas Magic!
You introduce your set of two "chimney" doors, open one door and insert Santa Claus. The box is then tilted left and right. Despite the fact that the two compartments are separated, Santa Claus magically walks from one compartment to another. You can even hear it sliding inside the box! Yet, your audience can't seem to locate him.
Finally, Santa Claus completely disappears. You open both doors at the same time and the box is completely empty! He's gone! But, he can't be gone for real because he has to deliver his Christmas gifts.
You check his house to see if he's there but he's not. Until you turn your back and he rises up. Your audience will yell and scream. But, every time you turn around he's not there. This fun game repeats until you finally manage to find Santa.
