As I said, the trick is great, but you will be at the mercy of Wayne Fox, and particularly David Penn for longer than might prove comfortable.
Though the demo video shows an ideal succession of outcomes, you can achieve comparable, if not identical, results with the deck as provided. I'll use this, but I'm not sitting through the video again!
Also the explanation video is over an hour long and filled with so much filler, I could barely stand it.
With a few questions you can seemingly ascertain the exact identity a spectator has thought of out of a 52 card deck, but then go onto cutting to the card, having them cut to the card, predicting it or even revealing the card has vanished and appeared to another location (Such as in Derren Brown's famous 'Smoke' effect). Not only that, but you can repeat it immediately after or to multiple people at once.
Many are apprehensive at the thought of a one trick deck, which this is, but the effect possible with 5221 is certainly one of the best you can do with a deck of cards that can't as adequately or fairly be done with a standard pack. Whilst not examinable, if handled right the spectator need not suspect any foul play with the deck, after all you show them the entire deck to be different and they only think of a card rather than select one, the effect is so fair you can sincerely convince them that what you are doing is real if you are capable of selling it.
If you like the effect on the trailer then you won't be dissapointed, keep in mind it may not be quite as fair as Wayne does it (but it can be if you wish to be as bold as him), but the effect is still incredibly powerful with the very slight compromise you may have to endure in determining the spectator's thought of card, but this is a small price to pay for the incredible impact you will have on your audience.
thank god i bought this
I really like that Wayne and David presented multiple routines including a stage one.
Now the downsides. The first one is that the trick requires a practice and the main routine can go wrong if you are not able to get a specific piece of information from you spectator. Video instructions show ways around this but the routine is not bulletproof if the spectator does not collaborate. The second downside is that the deck cannot be fully inspected. Spectators should not want to inspect it because they saw the cards at the beginning but the fact is that you don't end clean.
The deck is expertly crafted and looks just like any other deck of cards, which adds to the element of surprise when performing the routine. The gimmick is easy to use and the instructions are clear and concise. Even if you're not a seasoned magician, you'll be able to perform mind-boggling routines with this deck in no time.
This is a deck that will stay in your arsenal for years to come.
Overall, I highly recommend The 52 to 1 Deck. It is an investment in your magic repertoire that will pay dividends for years to come. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, this deck is a must-have.

Thomas asks: In addition to the 52 to 1 deck, I also received a few double faced cards and a blank face card. Are these special cards to be used in a specific routine, or .... ? Thanks ! Tom
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Hi, These are just extra cards in case you need them
Bill asks: The length video only uses 49 cards
- 1. Bill responds:Edit Linked video
Muhammad asks: How is it different from the mind power deck?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:You have the ability to cut directly to the thought of card as well as letting the spectator cut to the card too.
Edward Alexander asks: How reliable is this trick? Is this something that I can be confident that person will cut to the card that they are thinking of every time, most of the time, some of the time, or a few of the times?
- 1. James responds:I won't answer everything, as that is approaching exposure territory. I will say that when performed properly, it is utterly reliable. If you choose to not practice and rehearse, then the reliability will lessen.
- 2. Tom responds:All I can say is, it's not that easy. It takes a little practice and in the trailer Wayne Fox is really bold .Things don't work out that way, especially if you have extra pair of eyes at table looking at the spread.Best if you do it one-on-one. Also be careful a spectator who reacts with the deck in their hands as you can see if they're throwing it up in the air. that's the end of your night buddy. Anyway it's a great trick just practice and it's not as easy as Wayne makes it look Tom Williams Vermont
Joseph asks: Can you perform this trick multiple times to the same spectator? As in, can they think of different card each time and the trick will still work?
- 1. Sgkyduyen responds:Nope! You can't
- 2. Elliot responds:Yes it can. You cut to a different named card 2 times and the spectator cuts to the card the last time
David asks: Is the cut to card always the same card? And can you perform 2or 3 times to same spectator
- 1. Sgkyduyen responds:Nope! I think the spectator may figure out something if you do it 2 or 3 times
Eric asks: Is it easy
- 1. Sgkyduyen responds:It's easy to do, you just need some basic sleights
- 2. Sgkyduyen responds:It's easy to do, you just need some basic sleights
- 3. Edward Alexander responds:I just want to know how reliable this card trick is. I've been hearing there's some problems with this that is doesn't really live up to the trailer. Can I pull the deck out and have the person cut to the card that they're thinking of every time? Can you answer that question honestly?
