Really enjoying this book. There is so much coverage in terms of close magic in this book. Coins, cards, thimbles, and on it goes. The effects are really good the explanations are great and the production value of the book is really good. Highly recommended this if you are looking for a book that covers it all.

What a fantastic collection!
I always enjoyed the individual booklets published by Supreme Magic featuring legends and their magic. This omnibus presents them in a beautiful way - making the teachings both accessible and easy to read.
I was bought this by my partner for Christmas and recently bought another copy for a dear friend who was celebrating a milestone (60 years in showbiz!) - I hope he enjoys it as much as I do!

This is a beautiful book. It features so many great magicians with some of the their best effects. This book should not e confused with Ganson's "Routined manipulations" books. You won't be disappointed with this book.

Before he died in December, 1980, Lewis Ganson had written or edited 58 significant books and booklets instructing magic techniques and methods. His work in these books provides much of what several generations had as their legacy of Vernon, Slydini, Malini, Leipzig and countless others. He spanned close up to stage, from card tables to streets in a clear, learnable manner available worldwide. Through the 1970’s, he compiled a series of single topic “Teach-In” books for Supreme Magic in the United Kingdom. The format of the books was the same as used in the firm’s magazine, The Magigram.
Ganson selected a set of very popular magic effects, provided a history of the effects, an instruction of the effect and then, variations of the effect developed to tailor it to more performing venues. It is illustrated with a few drawings and a lot of photos. In this way, it is acknowledging the change to visual more than written learning.
During the era in which this series was introduced, I subscribed to The Magigram and purchased a few of these works. When the series was collected into this form in 2010, I was not seeking expansion of my magic library or act. Seeing this available now caused me to feel the thrill I had when Ganson introduced them.
I found the clear instruction I remembered, I found sections I had not seen and I found some new ideas about things I still do. Seldom in my many years of reading magic have I found books so clearly intended to produce working items for many skill levels. It is humbling to look at this and realize the wisdom so readily offered. It is a book to move one’s magical knowledge to higher levels.
The book was quickly delivered and in new condition.
