The (W)hole thing showcases the genius of legendary magician Daryl.

Two HOLE cards and two WHOLE cards magically transform into a SPOT card and then a card with a WHOLE bunch of spots and then a spot that covers the WHOLE card. All this before becoming a SPOT card with a HOLE before a surprising finish where the card is revealed to have the word "HOLE" written across the WHOLE card.

"The Whole Thing" is Daryl at his finest. The clever scripting adds extra layers to hilarious routine without needing any extra gimmicks. Everything can be examined and the entire routine resets instantly.

Both a PARLOR and STAGE version is available. Each one comes with the specially-printed die cut cards, as well as access to online instruction containing a full performance, the complete script and everything you need to know to get the most out of the effect.

This is going to be as used as much as Hopping Spots in my repertoire! It has few slights to learn, so I can focus on the delivery and adaptation to my style. The given routine is great for many ages, as the puns and patter are easy to follow. My only complaint is that the Parlor size is only an inch smaller than the Stage size. I would love to see a 5"x7" (or even a 3"x5") for walk-around and real "Parlor" size. I am also thinking ahead for ministry patter and a possible adaptation to the kicker at the end.

I've done "What's Next" for years. This is my new go-to routine for Stand-up/Parlour performances. It has great patter and very doable sleights. Daryl's genius really resides in his audience engagement in the routine which is communicated in two different ways in the downloadable video instructions. Props are also durably manufactured and will last a long time.

Received my The (W)hole Thing (The Whole Thing (Parlor) and am super happy with my purchase. This will be going into my repertoire as soon as I can completely master the handling and script. I would normally try and modify the script to make it my own, but I don't feel I could much improve on Daryl's take, maybe a word or two here and there.

The routine is perfect!!! It is so much fun to perform, and the teaching on the video is wonderful. This trick is going straight into my show, it’s fun, simple, and impressive. I highly recommend it!

Man, no arguing. Daryl was a genius (only gone too soon) and the impact and comedic value of this routine is fantastic.
It’s supposed to be for parlor/stage but you can even do it close up/walk around (you may need a big jacket pocket).

The only reason for the pretty good rating is because the prop quality. Good, not great. And be aware of backlighting as with a bit of it the spectators can see right through the card and “kinda” see what’s printed on the other side

  • Marlin asks: Hello, someone else asked what size the two different size sets of cards are (Parlor and Stage). You responded by saying Parlor were 9 x 6.3, and Stage are 10 x 7.3; I purchased a set a while back (official, not knock off or anything), and the size is 7 x 4.5. What size do I have?????? It's interesting that there's only a one inch difference in the sizes you gave for Parlor vs stage. Usually there would be a bigger difference.
