Throughout his TV series 'A Kind of Magic' Wayne presented a routine called 'Alistair Witchell's Amazing Tales'. Here he featured one of his favorite classic storylines based around the Gypsy Thread called The Thread of Life, with credit to The Gypsy Thread by Lewis Ganson

The "Thread of Life" also comes with an improved handling of how to prepare the thread and every possible detail of handling the thread step by step, professionally taught in the video instructions by Axel Hecklau.

The "Thread of Life" includes a Book of Life, an antique book type wooden storage box which contains three wooden spools of white cotton thread, plus four extra refill rolls of thread supply. The thread is 100% cotton and VERY EASY TO BREAK, which is an essential quality for performing the Gypsy Thread effect. In total you get an abundant supply of this special thread for lots of practice and hundreds of performances.

I like everything about this package except for the additional thread spools (for practice or refill of the wooden spools that come with the package). The thread on the three wooden spools is excellent and easy to break. The additional spools contain thinner thread, which is fine. The problem is that the additional spools that came with my package are extremely difficult to break. In my case it is so difficult that I can’t even use it for practice, let alone performance. I admit that I am not all that strong, but I can easily break the thread on the wooden spools.
I would like to see Vanishing Inc. check the additional thread and either find a replacement or change the advertising that states that it is also easy to break.
Other than that, I really enjoy the effect and the teaching.

The Tread of Life is basically the Gypsy Tread. In this version you are given a lot spools of thread in a old looking book for you props. Which is really nice. Also you receive something like magicians wax to help with the rolling of the tread. These are great looking props and you should be able to create your own routine to give it your presentation. Please realize there are many routines using the Gypsy Tread principle. Me personally I love the Gypsy Tread ever since I saw Eugene Burger perform it. What a great piece of theatre he gives it. Samuel Peterson has a wonderful version where you can roll the thread up easier and offers a unique display. Mike Wong's version (Dragon Thread) is also a very different way on this classic. What I truly like about this is you are given very unique props and you should be proud to introduce them into your show.
