This is a different technique than what I've seen in the past. It is easier. Is it more or less convincing? About the same. However, if using this hand washing technique in combination with the other hand washing techniques that I've seen, it makes it harder for the audience to follow what the magician is doing. Use this technique and the other handwashing techniques at different times in the same routine and it will be completely undetectable.
