Meet The Team - Damian

Who are you and what do you do at Vanishing Inc. Magic?
Damian Jennings and I look after all the marketing at Vanishing Inc.

What got you into magic?
My Uncle. He initially gave me the Starfish Book of Magic when I was about 9 or 10. Then I graduated to The Royal Road when I was 11. Every Christmas family meeting he'd give me a new book and we'd sit and he'd help me with sleights. He has been my mentor and I am very grateful.

What sort of magic do you do now?
I have a comedy mind-reading act I love performing - Tony Sagittarius "The Sexiest Mind Reader in the World". I work doing close up at private parties and events and I also do magic at music festivals in the summer.

Who are you magical heroes?
Aforementioned Uncle. Then Vernon. I also, same as everyone, love me some Williamson. I also love Zabrecky.

What’s your favourite magic book?
Royal Road to Card Magic.

What’s your favourite magic trick?
Ambitious Card or Cards Across.

What’s one bit of advice you can share you’ve learned over the years?
Learn to act. Anyway you can. Local community theatre/am dram. Take a class. Anything. I was lucky enough to do drama my whole life and ended up taking a degree in it. I think that single thing has helped my magic more than anything else because I learned about acting, speaking, scripting, blocking, which are really all fundamental to magic too.
