We Wouldn't Have Won Without You!
By Damian Jennings -
Last week, something truly magical happened: Vanishing Inc. was awarded the Literary & Media Fellowship by the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle. We’re still pinching ourselves.
Here's the video of the acceptance speech:
A Moment We’ll Never Forget
Standing on that stage, looking out at a room filled with legends, friends, and heroes, we felt a heady mix of gratitude, disbelief, and pride. The Literary Fellowship isn’t just an award—it’s a recognition of years spent obsessing over every comma, every illustration, every story that makes magic’s literature so rich. To have our names called out as recipients was surreal.
It Takes a Village (of Magicians)
As we said in our acceptance speech, we’re the lucky ones who got to hold the trophy, but this award belongs to everyone who’s ever contributed a page, an idea, or a late-night edit to a Vanishing Inc. project. Every author, every creator, every member of our team—this is your award as much as ours.
Why This Means So Much
Magic books are more than instructions, they’re time machines, passports, and secret handshakes all rolled into one. They preserve the work of past masters and spark the imaginations of future stars. To be recognized for helping keep that tradition alive is the highest honor we could imagine.
What’s Next?
Winning the Literary Fellowship doesn’t mean we’re done. If anything, it’s fuel for the fire. We’re more inspired than ever to keep raising the bar, to find the next great voice, the next lost classic, the next idea that will set the magic world alight.
Thank You
To the Academy of Magical Arts, to our peers, and to the entire magic community: thank you for trusting us with your stories and your secrets. We promise to keep treating them with the care they deserve.
Here’s to the next chapter.
