Card to Card Case Chicanery Apr 14th

Here is an excellent subterfuge to be used anytime you apparently (or really!) extract a card from a card case to extend in time the impression that the card was really found inside the card case.

You can use the original handling by Edward Marlo, popularized by Matt Schulien, or any modern version, such as Luis Otero’s handling (Genii magazine, January 2012, p. 31):

As soon as you’ve taken the card from the case, or from behind it so it looks as if it came from inside the case, lay the case on the table with the flap upward and place the card vertically into the flap.

Leave it there for a while as you continue with the trick, or introduce your next piece.

This is an excellent application of Gabi Pareras’ “The Waiter’s Theory.”

All entries from this series come from Roberto Giobbi's Hidden Agenda book.
