Vanishing Inc. Acquires Magicana Publishing Titles

We are pleased to announce that Magicana has accepted an offer from Vanishing Inc. for the acquisition of the major titles from their publishing business. This includes the rights to titles like The Magic of Johnny Thompson, Ibidem, Magic and Methods of Ross Bertram, Ross Bertram on Sleight of Hand, Stewart James in Print, The James File, and more.

Vanishing Inc. is thrilled to continue the high bar set by Magicana. We have long admired both the content and quality of their books, and their emphasis on classical magic. This is an area we’ve long-wished to expand into, and this acquisition puts us in a position to thrive with titles from some of the greatest luminaries in the craft of magic.

This purchase also includes the remaining stock of books held by Magicana, and fortuitously, this comes at an ideal time for us at Vanishing Inc. The fire in our warehouse resulted in a near-total loss of our printed books. This acquisition gives us stock of a variety of high-quality books while we await reprints from our back catalog.

We have long admired David Ben and Julie Eng’s stewardship of Magicana, and we are honored by their board’s trust in us to continue the high quality of their publishing efforts.
